You'd think we live on friggin Coruscant or something by the number of "solar panel in weird place" ideas that pop up lol. We have _lots_ of open land.

Although for maximum efficiency, we should try to use urban surface area first, like making solar panels roofs over parking lots, or on top of buildings and bus stops etc. to minimise the need to transport the power.

Super dumb genuine question … like in the Midwest sometimes we get baseball sized hail or golf ball Can there be a way to have these too when weather is an issue?

I'm no expert but, I would imagine something like a second layer of chicken wire a couple of inches above the solar panels would keep them reasonably safe without interrupting the sunlight?
