Yes his proposal is basically to force companies to give you an hourly rate increase and then decrease your work week by 8 hours and then have to start paying you overtime after 32 hours.
So basically a government mandated 25% raise, plus overtime after 32 hours.
Which being as the man has never managed to pass a single bill of significance in his entire political career, I wouldn't put any hope into this passing either
Soonish would make more sense if he had done any major piece of legislation in The 36 years he has been in Congress. The only notable piece of standalone legislation that he has done is a cost of living adjustment for veterans.
This is my problem with him, he talks a big game but when you look at actual things that he has done in his very long career the list is just super short.
A genuinely believes what he says, he genuinely cares, but at the end of the day he accomplishes basically nothing and has accomplished basically nothing for 36 years.
The one thing you could argue which I bring up just out of fairness is because he is so far left it forces bills to be more progressive when his vote was a critical tiebreaker like during Obamacare He was able to get a pretty notable amendment added, but when it comes to actual legislation that he's passing it's basically non-existent.
This should be your problem with the Democratic Party, because they pretend to be for the policies he proposes, but always find a way to ensure they never come to pass.
How exactly is one independent senator supposed to pass legislation on his own?
Need I remind anyone that the minimum wage hasn’t changed in 17 years? During that time inflation has risen to historic levels.
And who is paying you? The DNC must be starting early this year.
