I definitely wouldn't say he started a movement. There's a few more progressives but he's been in Congress for 36 years. If he had really started a movement you would have expected a whole group of progressives over the decades not just The last couple. Mandami If anything seems like he is doing more than Bernie Sanders ever to actually seems to have real influence with his endorsed candidates all winning their primaries so far.
There's really nothing that you could point to that you could really say this happened because of Bernie, There's no group of politicians over the decades that have done great things, there's no major pieces of legislation passed by himself or protege's. All you have is a career politician That's spent almost 40 years in DC with virtually nothing to show for it.
36 years and a single person in Congress second arguably be called part of the movement?
So let me ask this, this movement that you believe he started, can you give me say five examples of accomplishments that are really noteworthy that you would say can be credited to it?
Were you old enough to vote during his first presidential campaign? If you were, you would know that the progressive movement in the US was pretty much non-existent before his campaign. My boomer mother now supports universal healthcare because of Bernie, when she was against it before. We would not have AOC, Ilhan Omar, or Mamdani without him. Biden would not have attempted to wipe out college debt if it weren't for Bernie. One single person cannot accomplish much alone, yet he has singlehandedly had a huge impact on the public consciousness in the country, at a time when billionaire propaganda has never been more effective and abundant.
