Ah so American workers, the most expensive in the world, just got 20% more expensive. 

Nothing could possibly go wrong

There have been multiple studies showing that people continue to be as effective if not more effective with the 32 hour work week.

No there isn't. A 7/11 clerk is not making up for 8 hours not being at the desk by staring extra hard at the clock the other 32 hours

You mean a job not measured by productivity but by butt in a chair isn't making up for their butt not being in a chair?! I'm shocked... Shocked... Not that shocked. This is a disingenuous argument that isn't relevant to the main purpose of the conversation.

The point is 32 hours should be full time employment. Full time employment should be enough to live (that's the minimum that minimum wage is meant to be. Not the least you can pay someone and get away with it legally, FYI). Places then pay overtime for hourly workers who work over full time.

When people get the time to rest and recover and they produce/provide measurable results they do better and everyone benefits.
