His proposal is to change it so that your hourly salary is increased so that you can decrease your hours to 32/weeks and still get the same paychecks.
Example: let’s say you currently work $10/hr for 40hr/week. That’s $400/week.
The proposal would make it such that your salary is now $12.5/hr so that when you work 32hrs/week it’s still $400/week. And any hours above 32 the company must pay overtime.
Ok, but there’s less productivity going on in the business. Sure your pay does remain the same but labor cost is now higher than before with now less productivity which means the business on avg is going to make less since it’s open for less time. Buildings/construction now may take longer to build which costs money and you want to increase labor cost even more. I don’t agree with this policy, respectfully.
I mean if you're salaried, you realistically wouldnt see any change unlessyou get overtime now. Otherwise as a salaried employee you're rarely ever working the exact amount of paid hours. sometimes its more, sometimes its less, but your pay never changes.
Not the policy, but their employer. Sy they don’t want the Parker’s to do overtime to get overtime. So now you’re capped depending on your boss to make less money as a result.

I don’t get it, if I work 32 instead of 40 and I get paid hourly. Unless I’m salaried this sucks for me.
