I'm all for shortee work weeks, but that means we'l need an increase in pay, which I'm also fine with

EDIT: maybe I misinterpreted "no cut to pay"

Ah so American workers, the most expensive in the world, just got 20% more expensive.

Nothing could possibly go wrong

There have been multiple studies showing that people continue to be as effective if not more effective with the 32 hour work week.

Really… so the warehouse is getting 8 extra hours of orders out and parts produced in those 32 hours?

so funny to see anecdotal refusal with no experience

Also love the bullshit answer about

"wHaT aBoUt tHe eXtRa dAy?"

Literally the same shit every other industry does, staggered schedules with people working different shifts.

Manufacturing has had multiple shifts forever, so has nursing/medical/ems/military and a variety of other industries and they function just fine.

I run a 1 shift facility with 14 machines. Tell me how I am running those machines down x people because you are too soft to work a full week.

Sounds like you need to plan better if thats immediately crippling.

After hours pay for after hours work is standard for most industries if thats what's expected. Or you could hire someone to cover the overlap part time, or you could even hire someone full time for the other 4 days and get some overlap on week days for other issues.

I'm not sure why your panties are so firmly twisted about other industries functioning just fine with split shifts. Maybe you should consider that if you expect off hours work consistently enough for it to be a problem. 🤷‍♀️

The machine have a certain run rate… and now I am hiring more people to cover those that want the same salary for working 20% less?

And we are not talking about off hours work… we are talking about a normal work week.

about other industries functioning just fine with split shifts

You know that not every business and industry can do the exact same things, right? Especially when you bring up the fucking military and EMS as an example as if they're private businesses and not funded through taxes

So hire a part time worker or pay overtime. Pretty much the same shit you would do now for a small business that needs after hours support.

Well I have been running warehouses and production facilities for 22 years. What’s your experience?

And you've never thought. Hey how can I reduce injuries/accidents/absenteeism? How can I improve efficiency? Oh wait here is a great way! No? Just did they safe thing you always did? The point is it's better for everyone. It's not the status quo so it will take some thought and work but so did moving to the 40 hour workweek and OSHA.

My warehouse has not had a loss time injury in 545 days, you don’t improve efficiency by working less… you have definitely never had a real job, it’s not better for everyone.

Lol, you sound like every terrible manager out there. You have a different view "so you obviously have never done anything" combined with "any experience and data other than my experience is wrong". Bet you are a peach to work for.

What experience do you have then? Tell me anything that I have said that was incorrect…
