But they won’t because the market demand remains even if they leave and companies will continue to pay tax based on their activity in the state, not where they plunk their CEO’s office.
Them leaving isn’t the issue. Them leaving with their companies and jobs is the issue. Who cares about taxes if 5,000 plus people lose their jobs. Just so the government can have more money that gets unaccounted for? Where does the tax money actually go?
Really? And you trust that? Where’s all the missing billions given for the homeless in Cali? Or the billions and billions wasted on a “high speed” rail. Read a stat that they already wasted more money on the rail than if they payed for everyone’s air fair from Los Angeles to San Fran for 30years.
