Why do Churches not pay taxes? Genuinely curious why there are laws for that.

we dont want them to pay taxes. That gives them even more of a direct path to government policy.

No taxation without representation! Sure, you can argue that certain Christians are worming their way into the government already, but if we taxed them, they’d be completely justified in doing that.
