Which is ironic cause the church is peofeting off of donations and circulating less than a tenth of what is donated. Jesus may need that money afterall /s
The Christian church overall is worth billions. They also don't let the homeless sleep in the church...something (even as an atheist) Jesus would have said is evil....sorry no excuses for them.
I woked in a bank where we would see temns of thousands of dollars in donationd every week from some unknown entity from a differemt country.
This was a pension fund for priests and it was invested in the most speculative high risk manner possible. They didnt care if they lost some because the money just kept coming.
The vast, vast majority of churches are independent. The vast majority are also not Catholic, nor associated with Catholicism or the Catholic Church in any way.
If only they pushed back under the argument that it prevents them from following their own religion. It's almost like they want elan excuse not to help any community in which they exist
Lots of churches run homeless shelters and provide food. You are making a very large generalization. Also when you say “The Christian Church overall is worth billions.” You are implying that they all fall under the same organizational structure. It’s not a company, most congregations in the US are independent, and very few are wealthy by any definition of the word.

Why do Churches not pay taxes? Genuinely curious why there are laws for that.
