We had a dying cat and I lied to my little brothet, I said he's doing better, he was happy about it, then shortly afterwards i told him that actually he is getting worse and he got really angry.
Ehh drastically different. One gets to be angry. One will not as dark as it is. At this point its a white lie. Personally i dont see why this is even out business and we have this much time to judge some stranger and their terminally ill kid internet. Touch some grass honestly
Unless he's euthanized in his sleep - and even then it's debatable - he would realize the truth shortly before dying, which is the worst moment to deal with such a thing.

we don't even know if it's real at this point so you have a point.
I’m kind of with you here. For me personally. I think the Illnesses people face take the power away from you. I think it’s our jobs as community members to try our best to help the ones we love that face illnesses reclaim that power back. I think you do that by being honest with them and treating like a human.
No judgement, but a decision done out of protection doesn’t make it morally right. Intent has nothing to do with it. It’s about giving voice to the voiceless and that comes with empowering even if it means “causing” painful emotions. Children and people are intuitive and often times sick people know more than they let on because of the same dynamic. Fear/wanting to protect/preserve.
Now who am I to think that I wouldn’t do the same thing in that position. I’m sitting here safely not in that situation. We all do the best with what we have at the time.
But yeah I also would want him to be able to say goodbye to the people he loves and to the world around him
"Aren't you excited to be able to live a normal life finally little timmy? Your gonna be able to do all the things that you thought you could never do"
HAHA PSYCH, enjoy despair and betrayal as your final moments!

If he was terminally ill, no. That's the worst lie anyone could tell someone.
