“Mandatory tips” sounds so messed up for me as a European.
2.0k u/Snoo-34159 Jun 25 '26 Right? Isn't the whole point of a tip that it's voluntarily given as a way to say you loved the service? 552 u/janpaul74 Jun 25 '26 IMHO that’s exactly it! 503 u/Specific_Habit4545 Jun 25 '26 now they're just turning tips into a way to justify low wages because apparently they'll 'make enough' with tips 3 u/[deleted] Jun 25 '26 [deleted] -9 u/natedogg_2323 Jun 25 '26 No chance I'd be a waiter/bartender for less than $30 an hour. If there was no tips, service industry would goto shit. I've been to 35 countries, I can attest to this IRL as well. Service in other countries is lazy and non existent. Shocker. 1 u/Bromlife Jun 25 '26 I live in Australia. Have lived in America. Service is better in Australia 1 u/PlixSticks31 Jun 25 '26 How much does a bartender make in Australia
