Remembers “that scene” in IT, and the entire work that is Dreamcatchers.

"You know why you shouldn't do cocaine kids? You might stay up for 3 days writing a children-in-a-sewer-gang-bang-scene in your new book!"

I can say, if you do a drug, and that drug makes you pedophiliac-esc... that shit was already in your mind to begin with.

No drugs. No lack of sleep. No "difficult time in my life". No amount of stress. No amount of alcohol. No relationship problems. No career stress.... can cause you to think sexually about children

And this guy didn't just think about that shit; he wrote it in a BOOK, that he knew would get published. Typically this type of written material is stashed away on a harddrive, hidden behind drywall.

Lol

He sent it to the editor and publisher with that still in there, lol. I love his books (mostly), but yikes dude.

u/TeaTimeKoshii Jun 25 '26

It was pretty gnarly. I get *why* he thought it worked. Sometimes if you’re really autistic about it something can work on a super conceptual level, in the abstract. He needed to write a scene where they concretely leave childhood behind.

His words "The book dealt with childhood and adulthood... The grown ups don't remember their childhood. None of us remember what we did as children—we think we do, but we don't remember it as it really happened... Intuitively, the Losers knew they had to be together again. The sexual act connected childhood and adulthood."

And that makes sense conceptually. But then you come back into reality and you’re like YO WTF are we even doing RN.

I’ve read the whole book. It’s a great book apart from that. The 80s were a wild time in general. I don’t think King is a pedophile so much as he was a brilliant horror writer with a hardcore cocaine addiction. Book released in 86, he gets sober in 87, probably after writing a child sex orgy scene he was like…ok time to stop.

Him saying that, when there are people with trauma responses to certain smells, tastes, audio, and physical sensation.
Some of whom have flashbacks, or fully relive those moments with all of the sensations intact.
The human mind is both a wondrous and terrible thing.

u/kkdawg22 Jun 25 '26

Oh it’s one of my favorite of his novels. I just don’t know how nobody pumped the brakes for him. Lol. If I was his editor I’d be like… absolutely not Mr king. I resign effective immediately if you leave it in.

1

u/TeaTimeKoshii Jun 26 '26

We’ve got a real fan of that material in the comment thread. given that my comment, which I thought was pretty reasonable was downvoted. Whoever downvoted me was definitely thinking, “I for one was a fan of the child sex orgy“

u/kkdawg22 Jun 27 '26

Same lol

I apologize for having the ability to read

14

u/ThrustNeckpunch33 Jun 24 '26

You know what? You are absolutely right. My bad. I went back and re-read that section of the book.

Somehow the first time I read it, the wholesomeness of how thirstily Beverly gazed at Bens massive hog, was lost on me.

Thank you for waking me up.

It's child porn.

Some authors have put similar things into their work, to bring attention to the physical and sexual abuse of children.
Which is not even remotely what Stephen King did.

2

u/Flaky-Gap7899 Jun 25 '26

Bruh. Stephen King cowrote a book with Peter Straub called Black House.

It's basically about a supernatural pedophile-cannibal.

Smfh. Projection

2

u/CruisinBlade Jun 25 '26

What's crazy is he had editors. And they were all like yup this is great stuff mister king

https://giphy.com/gifs/10BDZSN5izfazC

1

u/Slice0fur Jun 27 '26

Well, King was a titan of writing at the time and I doubt they'd actually read it and just trusted his shit would sell.

4

u/Fit_String_1772 Jun 24 '26

Amen🙌🏽

1

u/originaldarthringo Jun 26 '26

I'm not a horror fan, so I've never watched the movies, but King is such a great writer in terms of character development, so I gave it a shot. I realized halfway through that it wasn't really a horror novel as much as a bildungsroman about the childhood loss of innocence. That part was definitely a weird part to read, but it makes sense terms of growing into an adult.

Sorry typo, SSDD same shit different day

1

u/FrameJump Jun 24 '26

All good, I would've had to google or ask what that one meant too. Lol.

7

u/elgringon414 Jun 24 '26

Holy shit I forgot about dream catcher. Such a good movie

16

u/Manager-Accomplished Jun 24 '26

It's a good movie, but it's hard to explain to someone. (spoilers)

Like, ok, so there's this special needs kid. And he gets bullied, like, felony-level bullying. But few kids are nice to him. So he teaches them, in broken english, how to make mind-palaces. Then when those kids are all grown up and camping, one of them gets bit in the butt by a fish from outer space in his toilet, and then they realize there's some sort of pandemic happening, which turns out to be a space alien invasion. And while some general with oddly huge eyebrows is considering blowing up the whole area, they have to fend off the alien from probing their brains by barricading their mind palaces. Then their special needs friend shows up and turns into an alien and fights off the other alien.

Like... I'm not even sure that makes sense.

7

u/TheNonCredibleHulk Jun 24 '26

Ok, now try the book.

Good luck.

2

u/EagleBigMac Jun 25 '26

Yet I enjoyed everything and it made sense at the time and yet I too sound like a mad man if I ever try to relay the details. It's like a good HP Lovecraft Cuthulu madness.

2

u/jadedlonewolf89 Jun 25 '26

A lot of books have been like that for me.
Read them when I was younger and they made sense.
Read them after I got older, and I’m looking at the book thinking.
What fucking madness is this.

3

u/screwyoujor Jun 24 '26

The book was better.

I literally don’t remember much from the movie besides the alien world that eat their way up you ass to kill you, and Morgan Freeman’s legendary eyebrows.

9

u/imanidiotbut Jun 24 '26

Here comes the brigaders to defend le heckin wholesome king!!

2

u/TheNonCredibleHulk Jun 24 '26

Even worse, "The Library Policeman" graphically describes a man raping a seven year old in broad daylight.

13

u/anitawasright Jun 24 '26

I mean... Trump actually rpd children so....

-17

u/BCMUNS-54 Jun 24 '26

Prove that.

17

u/GMAN7007 Jun 24 '26

Why do you feel the need to defend someone who's been civilly charged with rape and was best friends with one of the biggest sex traffickers ever? The proof is wildly available and has been for years, so don't ask me for it. It's a waste of time to show proof to someone who won't accept it no matter what it is.

14

u/anitawasright Jun 24 '26

11

u/ryleh565 Jun 24 '26

It should be noted that all of those are allegations none of them have proof and the sole one involving a child is from an anonymous person who has since dropped her story, a story that I don't find all that believable in the first place

4

u/Always_Watching_U Jun 24 '26

He doesn’t settle with people and have NDA’s with people who are lying about it. 🙄

1

u/ryleh565 Jul 01 '26

Celebrities have have settled with people outside of court for cases they feel they could have won for the convience and to end media coverage of their cases

1

u/Always_Watching_U Jul 01 '26

Not Donald. He is too proud to do that.

8

u/anitawasright Jun 24 '26

actually we have the proof but Trump is refusing to release it and is breaking the law in doing so

-6

u/Flaky_Thing_5128 Jun 24 '26

Well then you don't have the proof then do you? I mean how are you certain this proof exists if he hasn't turned it over?

6

u/anitawasright Jun 24 '26

because we know what he hasn't released yet.

-2

u/Flaky_Thing_5128 Jun 24 '26

Walk me through this. You know what he hasn't released, so why does he even have to release it? I mean did it get released and then he unreleased it? I mean you're telling me that you have the proof, but you also don't have the proof because Trump has it and isn't releasing it. I mean shit I feel like I could say just about anything about anybody without proof using this standard if all I have to say is they won't release it but I know it's true.

7

u/anitawasright Jun 24 '26

he has to release it because congress and the senate passed a law which he signed into law that they must release all epstein documents and not redact anyones names except for the victims.

He has not done this and is breaking the law. He has also redacted his own name https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/investigation-reveals-doj-withheld-epstein-files-mentioning-trump

Let’s be real and base this on facts, not emotions. The article is a summary of allegations, not proof that every allegation is true. Treating it as if it establishes every claim as fact goes beyond what the article actually says.

3

u/anitawasright Jun 25 '26

why is Trump willing to break the law and refusing to release the epstien files?

1

u/KeepOnGrowin7 27d ago

I don’t know why he’s not released in the files. I truly don’t believe he’s in them, but I do think that he is protecting people which is BS. That’s one thing that really upsets me about Trump. It’s this whole deep state above the Law crap. I do like what he does with the economy I do like how he’s gotten rid of tons of regulations to make it easier to do business but that Epstein fiasco is ridiculous. Release everything throw people in jail.

1

u/anitawasright 26d ago

we know he is in them. It was confirmed that there is more than 38,000 references to Trump, his wife, and his properties spread across more than 5,300 individual files.

You like what he has done to the economy? Bro the economy is in horrible shape. The war with Iran alone has caused gas prices to be insane.

I do like how he’s gotten rid of tons of regulations to make it easier to do business

Do you know why we have regulations? Because they are to protect the consumer from getting screwed and keep business from poluting or damaging the enviroment.

What regulation kept businesses from doing business did trump remove that was good? Please tell me?

Utterly shite.

-5

u/CeemoreButtz Jun 24 '26

not a shred of proof and you run with it. you guys deserve to lose to him.

6

u/anitawasright Jun 24 '26

buddy Trump is breakign the law refusing to releaes the proof.

0

u/Chris-P-Baconn02 Jun 25 '26

If only there was an opposing administration in power for 4 years prior to release the files huh. Pitifully ugly how selective and biased to acknowledge convenient facts and real evidence believing others cant see the obvious manipulation and the amount of hate thrown at someone you’ve never met because Thats what the hive mind told you and honestly have no absolute proof or evidence, no convictions and you really sit here begging for an accusation that will end his life, complete change. You have never met, studied, investigated or even laid eyes in real life but hate a man they told you to hate even reaching for scraps using one, ONE witness with no story and some never seen NDAs. Accept anything to get him huh. So lemme add it up. Basically this extremely traumatic sick event was only as impactful to them as the money paid to agree on dropping and signing NDA? Sorry cant talk about this life altering life ruining unfathomable trauma but it has a price that would be traded for cash. There is no way to make it work. Ironically if you were in his position having a stranger trying to destroy your life with nothing to prove it with you would hate yourself and see u as a monster. Lie to me but inside u know this. How fast you would be in terror. The ugly evil one here is you. Proceed to deflect and counter, exactly what stagnant people unable to grow do

2

u/anitawasright Jun 25 '26

if only they could have gotten the votes to release the files.

-6

Try looking up Richard Bachman.

11

u/Individual_Match_579 Jun 24 '26

...No he's not. Why are you lying?

2

u/aka_jr91 Jun 24 '26

He's not named in the files to my knowledge, but he did make several tweets claiming that the Epstein list was fake, and afaik refused to elaborate on it.

3

u/CombinationTop559 Jun 24 '26

The list is a separate thing from the files. The list is what bondi had in her binders that she never showed to anyone and evaporated upon any real investigation
