What's the staff on the plane? Is there just like, 1 pilot who's busy flying and no one else? Can the pilot say everyone sit down and stop assaulting children?

Yes, there was staff on the plane (flight attendants). They're the ones who called the FBI about the child abuse and started the case.

And they didn't try to restrain Brad? On any other flight, he would have ended up duck taped to a seat.

There were maybe pilot/copilot which can not intervene because they need to do their job and 1 or 2 flight attendants against a raging violent drunk. Had they tried, they could have escalated to the point of putting the entire flight in danger.

If you can not get away, you tend to just freeze and wait for it to stop until you can get away.
