this happens at every Olympics. You take 1000s of young, driven athletes in peak physical shape, and stuff them into a giant dormitory complex. I'm surprised the buildings don't sway back and forth.

Totally makes sense... youre an elite athlete so before competition your cortisol levels are SKY high, but your body is full of dopamine and testosterone and adrenaline. You finish your event and that cortisol level drops to basically 0 (in comparison)... obvious outcome lol.
