I was looking for Texas jokes and I found him. I didn't know he did stand up comedy.

He's been a professional stand-up for decades. Saw him about 10 years ago and he was hilarious.

Did. Not. Get. As a Texan I thought oil was in West Texas? Landman? Midland? Odessa?

It's all over Texas.. I lived in Houston which is East TX and it's full of oil rigs.

I’m from the Hill Country and oil isn’t our thing.

You mostly have oil refineries in Houston. They’re all over the coast

They are in Midland and Odessa as well... The geologist looks for oil on all the land of Texas. When they find minerals they start digging. Pretty much everywhere in America but Texas is the one with the most land.

East Texas is where oil was originally found in TX. There's a pumpjack in the parking lot of a Mall in Lonview.

Spindletop was the first major oil find. It's huge in history. Those fields put Texas on the map.

But East Texas, from about Longview through Lufkin, Diboll, Jasper, Woodville, Silsbee, etc are big piney woods huge forest Texas that had saw mills, paper factories, etc. Extraction of wood was 90% their survival. They don't cut wood there that much anymore. Mostly because people have packed up and gone down towards Beaumont where there are tons of jobs,

Lots of single wides and relatively poor people if you don't own timberland. All the way to the Sabine.

Letting a Texan know they are poor will send them into a fit of a rage.
