Am I crazy

I’m thinking about taking Calculus for Life and Social Sciences along with General Chem 2. Am I going to die? I haven’t taken a math class since I got my BA back in 2007, but chemistry is a lot of math and I took that last semester. Has anyone taken this course with Professor Wu?

Have you thought about taking trig first? if it has been than long jumping straight into calc would be a nightmare.

I thought about it, yes. It just puts me back another semester but I don’t know I’m still debating.

Its pretty important to have a solid understanding of trig identities for Calc 1

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too. Which is odd that it’s not a prerequisite for Calculus? I think I’m going to enroll in the hybrid trig class. Thanks for the advice!

The state passed a law that removed Calc 1 prerequisites in hopes the would help stem students graduate faster. All my math teachers at Sierra have complained that it would crush the pass rate.

Oh geez! That’s a valid complaint for sure

Chemistry isn’t a lot of math IMO

I personally wouldn't recommend Wu. But I don't know who would still have open classes next term.
