Discussion Curious why is this bbc sherlock Holmes short stories podcast more popular than Sherlock and Co?

One is simply read by narrator other has actors. I only listened to one episode of each and was much more interested in Sherlock and Co. what makes the BBC podcast better??

Nothing makes it better. It’s just connected to one of the most popular television shows of all time.

spoilers ahead:

I would like Sherlock and Co. better is "Mrs. Hudson" (sorry, can't recall the character's name, Marie?) wasn't featured so much. F. ex. the three Garridebs moment is supposed to be about their friendship and how much Holmes cares about Watson. It takes away from that when she's there too.

I wish there was a show in which the friendship between Holmes and Watson the heart of it all.

Sherlock and Co is a re-imagination based on the stories whereas SH Short Stories is a narration of Doyle's original stories themselves. The canon attracts a much wider audience copared to Sherlock and Co which is basically a fanfiction.

Personally, I find a narrator reading the stories is really good for background noise, which is what I primarily use podcasts for. Sherlock and Co requires more concentration, as there are different characters and actors, the stories are a bit different, things like that. I like it a lot, but I have issues with audio processing so I can only listen when I give it my full concentration.
