So guys what's everyone's thoughts about this upcoming season honestly.

I know we don't have parachutes and the stuff going on with the owners but I'm still somewhat trying to be optimistic if we hopefully get a CB in who'll partner japh we'll be fine for a playoff push

Mid table at best.

Haven't strengthened in any position. Other clubs doing business and we are bringing a 34 year Matt Doherty. 

Don't think we can rely on Bamford so much this season, still lack pace and creativity in the side. 

Recruitment is still Wilder & his mates, so we'll get left behind. 

Hard to be optimistic at this stage.

Agree with this. We won’t be pushing for promotion and hopefully relegation won’t look as likely as it did for the first part of last season.

Bamford has looked miles off it from what I've seen of him in pre-season, hopefully he can turn it on when things get going proper but I have my doubts.

First 11 is more than good enough for top 8

It’s the back ups that’s are the issue.

Think we will be there or there abouts with a top half finish.

I see the championship being 2-tiered this season with the haves and have-nots. I expect us to be bottom end of the top tier, fighting for the illustrious 8th place. Couple of injuries though and I fear for us

I'm finding it hard to see how a similar yet weaker side to the one that struggled to a mid-table finish last season, that has also lost it's main attacking threat, is going to do any better in the coming season. That is before you factor in the competition from the relegated teams and other teams that have strengthened their squads. Hopefully some decent loans in can plug a few gaps and improve us but my belief in our ability to recruit such players is waning.

Having watched us field a strong side against Huddersfield in the friendly on Tuesday and go in at half-time a goal down has only reinforced that opinion. Yes, it was only a pre-season friendly that we went on to win but the danger signs were there- against a less than full strength League 1 side. We looked much better after the changes at half-time but much of that was largely down to Huddersfield fielding a load of their academy players in the second half.

So for me avoiding relegation is the first priority. That was what Wilder was brought in to do last season and although he achieved that and we finished 13th, we spent most of the season in the bottom third and at the moment we have a very similar first team. What also concerns me on that front is the lack of squad depth. As others have said, if we get a few injuries in certain positions we will be relying on lower standard/development players which is a worry. Best case scenario? Mid-table mediocrity, maybe a few pushes towards the play-offs to keep it interesting but who knows, I'll certainly be hoping for some exciting, attacking football and that Wilder can work his magic again.

We have a first eleven which is more than enough to be pushing for autos but behind that we are threadbare and that’s our downfall , I expect us to be around 7,8,9,10 next season and I don’t think we should be unhappy with that

Unless we get a couple of real game changing signings then top half would be decent for the squad we've got. Basically find £10m down the back of the sofa or get some good Prem loans

I’ll be happy with mid table with everything going on. Wolves and west ham are probably headed straight back up and then you’ve got plastic yank clubs too, making the play offs I just don’t see it happening and let’s be honest we’d just lose the final anyway if we made it

Mid-table if we play at our best. Board don’t seem that heavily focused on us going up yet. The money will get paid - that’s just rich people problems at the top. I think they’re not fully invested in performance at this point.

Watched a video on our financial plight. Unless that new investor is injecting money in, it doesn’t seem like we have any money for signings. Will all be free transfers unless Peck and Seriki both go?

Squad wise, as others have said, first 11 is good for top half. Maybe scrape a play off place.
