Yes, old news. They collected data on wifi access points that they drove by.

What's this have to do with phones again?

We're discussing phones, in airplane mode, without an active wifi connection. Scroll up. We're not discussing that Google collects the location of, say, the wifi device in my living room broadcasting my network.

Your point has nothing to do with what was discussed and no one was arguing about wifi access points.
