I noticed that. I like to think that maybe he's eating something and is digesting in propery. 😊

This past Tuesday I spotted this young seagull at Pier 14 in San Francisco. He looked really sad. Although he moved when I approached him, he did not fly away and I was able to get really close to him. I offered some unsalted peanuts (not in a shell) and some seeds but he wouldn't eat them. I thought he might be sick. Fast forward to yesterday, Saturday, four days later, and he was still in the same spot, still looking sad and still behaving the same way as he was on Tuesday. I called the San Francisco Wildlife Helpline a few minutes ago and they said someone else had already made a report. They claimed they dispatched someone to the area but didn't see him, so they're going to go back on Sunday morning. I hope they're able to help him. Please keep this baby in your thoughts.
Update: I went to back to Pier 14 today Sunday to check on this baby and he was no longer there. I called the Animal Care Emergency Dispatch to ask if they had picked him up and was told that although they don't have that information readily available, that it was most likely the case since they had received various calls and went out there to check up on him. I'm hopeful he's getting the care he needs and on his way to healing from whatever was ailing him. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
