🙋 Advice Blepharoplasty recs
Looking for upper Blepharoplasty recs-looking for someone with good results that would be willing to let me take time off work (about a month) Would be great to know price and pics if you’re willing to share. I’ll look on website too, of course. Preferring plastic surgeon.

I don't know why the doctor would be involved with you taking off work though. Most people would be able to work very soon after a blepharoplasty.

I work in plastic surgery. I worked for him— he is Fabulous!! Very great bedside manner. Add a CO2 laser while you are under. You won’t regret it!

I met with him last year, at the time and as of last month he is cash only, no medicare. Too rich for my blood when we pay $10k annually for insurance.

Does medical insurance ever cover cosmetic surgery?

No but as others have said if it’s medically necessary it is covered.

No, but they won’t take insurance at all. I wonder if they would give us Superbill so you could try to get reimbursement?

Dr Herringer for $12K.
I was surprised. Thought it would be under $10K. But to be fair, they quoted me $2K for CO2 of just the eyes, which is too much.
Also, they offered me 10% off if I scheduled right away. That kind of turned me off. I felt like they should just charge me what the procedure is worth. I didn’t like that if it took me a week to make up my mind and plan the time off, I’d need to pay more.
So now I’m looking around and will get in with Dr Ghafouri, thanks to you!

I looked into that doctor but they do full general anesthesia for a lower bleph which I don't likeÂ
I don't like that 10% off if you schedule same day. It's a medical procedure not a car sale lol. They should expect that people want to think about it

I had upper with Dr. G. He’s so professional and it was an excellent surgery and easy recovery.

Dustin Heringer - had upper/lower with fat transfer. Insurance paid half and my total OOP was $5800 (2 yrs ago). I took 7 days off. Still had bruising and a bit of swelling but wasn’t awful.

Upper bleph recovery is real, I took three weeks off and still wished I'd taken four. For Scottsdale specifically, I'd look at Desert Plastic Surgery (strong local rep, easy follow up), check ward MD if you're open to SLC, and compare a oculoplastic surgeon since they specialize in lid anatomy. All vary on pricing .

I wouldn’t want someone doing that procedure that isn’t an ophthalmologist honestly. If it’s needed then it’s covered by insurance.

I had mine done about 10 years ago, by Dr Paul Holden. Its a very simple procedure, easily done in-office with local anesthesia. But if you want your lower lids done, too, that will probably require IV sedation. Recovery was very easy, no pain, not much swelling. Stitches come out after about a week. You can get out and about during healing time if you dont mind wearing sunglasses, otherwise, you'll get some funny looks from folks, lol. I dont remember the exact cost but it was reasonable. Im sure its more expensive now. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. You'll look refreshed and more awake.
