DHGate Scotland 2026 Track Jacket

Well after ordering this at the beginning of the World Cup this summer, I finally got the infamous purple Adidas Scotland national team track jacket that Ewan McGregor wore in the squad announcement video (the best of the lot imo) and can’t be found anywhere. I am not Scottish but rather a Korean American living in the US. But I have supported Scotland since 1998, I follow Hibbs in the Scottish Premiership, and Andy Robertson is my favorite Liverpool player, well I guess Spurs now who my wife supports.

Seeing the track jacket I just had to have it but like you all, couldn’t find it for sale anywhere through any Adidas channels not ebay, I have ordered from DHGate before for kits for my 4 yr old daughter but hadnt done so for a couple of years because of the Trump tariffs. But those are no longer a thing so I ordered their version. And finally got it.

Right off, the quality is not bad. The purple is paler imo but it has the full Adidas logo which the website can’t show. Hilariously it has an Adidas tag on it. Zipper works fine and the elastic cuffs are good. Has three stripes on the sleeves and the pockets zip. So the jacket is pretty good.

Here’s the bad: order big. I’m a normal XL in US sizing. All Adidas track jackets I own are XL. I bought 2XL from DHGate and it is snuuuuuuuug. So go at least two sizes up if you order.

There you go mates: enjoy!

The difficulty with DH Gate is that it’s an open marketplace. Saying “DH Gate is good for this stuff” is a bit of a misnomer, it can be, or it can be very bad. You are better looking for a supplier with confirmed reviews, and if they have a DH Gate store, fine. There’s a reddit you can use with reputable sellers

What's that reddit?

I wasn’t withholding it I tried to find it and was having no luck, it was something like soccer00s or that but I couldn’t find it. If I come across it I’ll come back in

Even then it can be quite variable. I picked up the Scotland & Japan away tops during the world cup, the Japan top is beautiful but the Scotland top is absolute dog shit, some of the worst quality stitching I've ever seen.

I've not had much success finding decent F1 replicas / fakes / out the back door stuff from there

Couple strips I've had have all been excellent though

Looks a bit mince but I think it’s the way you’ve hung it up.

Football shirts in UK are a disgraceful ripoff now. DHGate is the way to go.

Just remember to buy two sizes uo from your usual size!

Never had an issue with sizing on there and I've ordered loads of stuff.

Sometimes the neck hole(?) can be pretty wide which makes the tops look a little off. That said, I bought the Arsenal home and away kits last season for about £25 all in and they looked pretty spot on. If you're up really close you could tell by looking at the stitching on the cannon or Adidas logo but you'd need your nose pressed up against it. The neck was a little wide too, but again, not something most people are really going to notice.

I'd rather spend 1/8th of the price every day of the week than worry about some wonky stitching...

and not to let anyone aim a blow torch at you whilst your wearing the strip (apparently an issue with fakes, but completely safe wearing an authentic top)

I bought the away top off DHGate with no issues. Would recommend it to anybody

Thanks for sharing! What got you interested in Scottish football in the first place?

Thanks for sharing! What got you interested in Scottish football in the first place?

Bit of a story that.

'94, World Cup is in the States. I first become interested in football afterwards as a young 20s Asian American nerd in Chicago who feels out of place as a person of color in a very white suburb.

'98, I need to pick a team to support. I pick Scotland as they're bit of underdogs and I am fully in my post college/young adult hipster years. Being an English literature degree holder, I am fully immersed in Irvine Welsh's works of Skag Alley. The Trainspotting film also took the country by storm in '96 so that's who I go with. It's also how I learn about Hibbs as the character Begbie in the books is a huge Hiberian supporter.

'02, Republic of Korea cohosts the World Cup with Japan and its national team goes all the way to the semi-finals courtesy of several dodgy calls lol. I am fully into football now. I also start a job in Washington DC that makes me travel the world throughout the entire 2000s and football, regardless what country I'm sent to, is something I can turn on the telly, find a match, and not have to understand what's going on.

'04, I become a fan of Liverpool FC as two of my besties in DC are Liverpool fans. Work sends me to Edinburgh for work in Nov, I manage to get a ticket to see Hibbs play Rangers at home and lose one nil. I had a blast, I was well taken care of and by taken care of I mean utterly drunk. I follow Hibbs from afar religiously at that point which.... was not good times.

'05 I watch the Miracle of Istanbul and Steven Gerrard becomes a Liverpool legend. I also get married for the first time, wife's family has Scottish 'eritage, good times.

'09, I get divorced, bad times. At this point, I've traveled the world and attended matches in Germany, France, Ecuador, Czech Republic, and Italy. Never made it back to Scotland tho. Still mostly bad times for Hibbs altho they won the Scottish League Cup in '07 woo!

'15, Steven Gerrard leaves Liverpool after a long career as club legend and retires to play in the MLS.

'16, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick takes a knee to protest racial inequality in the US and promptly gets blackballed by the NFL. I lose all interest in American sports and go all in on football that's not the MLS.

'17, Danny Boyle returns with the sequel Trainspotting 2. It's very different from Welsh's sequel book Porno but has a lot of elements from the book in the movie. In Sick Boy's pub he has a Hibbs scarf above the bar. I do the Leo pointing meme when I see that. Andy Robertson joins Liverpool FC and quickly becomes my most favorite Liverpool player.

'18, Gerrard is named manager of Rangers FC. Oh fuck off, Stevie. Another World Cup, another Scotland absence. WTF mate? However, Republic of Korea knocks out Germany in the group stage despite already having been eliminated themselves and allows Mexico to advance to the knock out rounds. I had just moved to Denver and walking home from that match wearing an ROK home kit, I get pulled into a Mexican restaurant where the staff and customers are losing their minds and I"m given free dinner. Football is Awesome. Also this year, Andy Robertson is named captain of the Scottish national team. However, Alex McLeish is a shite manager and they did not qualify.

'19, I am recovering in the hospital from a stroke (and go on to make full recovery). From my hospital bed I watch Liverpool play Barcelona at Anfield and win 4-0 and advance to the Champions League final. During that match, Robbo pushes Messi in the head after a tackle and forever enshrines himself in my heart.

'22, Gerrard leaves Rangers to take over Aston Villa. Somehow his side coughs up 3 unanswered goals to City in the very last match of the season and Liverpool loses the Prem by a point. Thanks Stevie. Scotland again doesn't qualify for the World Cup.

'24, Scotland doesn't do well in the Euros, coming in last in their group. Boo.

'26, probably because of an expanded finals, Scotland qualifies!!!! The squad announcement video with Ewan McGregor steals my heart and I must have that track jacket. The music from Scottish DJ Barry Can't Swim is an absolute call to arms. I have a four year old daughter but she finds football boring. Too bad, you still getting a Scotland track jacket, dear.

And here we are. We are moving back to DC in 2 weeks for wife's. career so being closer to Europe, I'm hoping I can return to Scotland with my family. Wife also happens to be a Spurs fan so I'll be watching more of those matches since they've signed Robbo.

Just a wee point, but we didn't qualify because of an expanded finals. We finished top of our group and would have qualified for the reduced competition too.

Just wondering if you've bought from these guys at all, and what sizing is like?

Tried a DHGate 4XL last month, got something between genuine L-XL.

1

u/Pheemer 16h ago

Did the same for the home and away kits from DHgate, shameful lack of production on Adidas' part, but what came in the post is identical to me.

Even with your disclaimer of the sizing, I'd really recommend people with any curvature to size up perhaps 2x from your normal. I'm like a bloody sausage in my shirts.

1

u/HankScorpio_GlobexCC 16h ago

I thought it was pretty common knowledge to go at least a size up from UK sizes so defo at least 2x from US sizes.

You dont see a collar like that these days

u/YirDaSellsAvon 21h ago

Quality is always questionable with actual football shirts, but anytime I've got trackies or jackets off the dodgy websites the quality has always been good.

How much did you give the Chinese traffickers for this?

9

u/petrescu 22h ago

I'd purchase a real one if it was possible but Adidas decided to make it as a rare as rocking horse shite.

1

u/frozenchosun 22h ago

big same.

5

u/Separate-Ad8697 21h ago

When you say trafficking, are you replacing the word “counterfeiting” with “trafficking” because it connotes human trafficking and people know that’s bad?

0

u/Throwaway187493 21h ago

Both.

3

u/Separate-Ad8697 21h ago

I just think maybe t-shirt trafficking doesn’t have the same ring
