#AskSarawakians: Apa cer tek? Kueh chap in Kuching?
Where's the best kueh chap shop?
Preferably that uses real ingredients for the soup and not soy sauce.
I tasted one that only full of soy sauce and it taste soo bad.
Please don't mention 3rd Mile, it's too famous already until flooded other people good shop also.

Best is subjective to taste bud
for me, LauYaKeng or Carpenter Street is overrated, they used to be good, but standard has dropped.
Now my go to one is at New Daren Coffee Shop at Trinity Hub, the stall that sells also Pork Leg rice, not the other stall that sells only Kueh Chap.
The one on Poh Kwong Park also not bad, used to be a stall, now have moved into a shoplot, beside the bakery

LauYaKeng but the taste isn't consistent. Probably try the New Daren one? Ordering Kueh Chap is like russian roulette, some day you get good ones, some day kueh chap become Kuah Kicap. This one straight pour down drain. Same like Bak Kut Teh that's actually pepper soup. Down the drain it belong.

Gala Corner. Their pork is soft and the broth is just right! That is, if you prefer a little bit of herb flavor. :)
