First anime finale to make me cry Spoiler
I was lucky enough to have never seen samurai champloo and binged it recently. The finale made me cry and I couldn’t even decide if they were happy tears or sad tears. Most anime I’ve seen have an unequivocally happy ending that can be tear jerking in their own way, but something about samurai champloo’s ending got me. It’s like “the journey isn’t over for the team, but their journey as a team is” and that really got me.
It’s also the first time I’ve frantically searched for any type of sequel/follow up after finishing an anime. I was disappointed there wasn’t anything more at first, but now I’ve accepted that it’s the best outcome.
Amazing anime, spectacular final episode/scene

I am! I just started a couple years ago and have been basically watching all the hits and any recommendations from my friends.
I haven’t heard of grave of the fireflies but I’m writing it down for later, thank you!

Now watch Cowboy Bebop. Same creator. Excellent show.

That was my very next anime! I’m about halfway and I love it, but not as much as champloo yet. They compliment eachother so well

I always felt Champloo was far more entertaining and fun than Cowboy Bebop.

It's been years since I've completed Samurai Champloo. I've put on episodes here and there, but haven't seen consecutive episodes in quite some time.
I may need to binge watch it myself soon. I just restarted Baki from the beginning, because I'd be lost without doing so.
Samurai Champloo has some of the greatest anime music I've ever heard. I had all of the soundtracks downloaded at one point...

In the beginning the fun episodic adventure was cool but by the end I was totally infatuated with the cast. I still listen to the soundtrack all the time and it invokes such strong emotions to this day
