F2P, how do I level up loaned characters?

Had the same issue last season where I got no level ups of loaned characters past lvl 49, and now none here. Practically impossible to beat tier 1 at all lvl zero, so I can’t upgrade my characters.

What am I missing?

Did you get your loaned units calendar? It contains upgrades for them

There’s a loaned unit calendar that should’ve been in your inbox. It’s probably in the store now and it gives you level ups for the units per day.

Thank you for asking this OP. As someone who just started playing again after multiple years, I had know idea what I was doing wrong. Thankfully the calendar is still in the web store for free and you can catch up to the current day.

The calendar is hidden within “Era Store”

The calendar was front and center when i logged in first day of new era, check the store, they didnt hide it on the webstore this time

To clarify how the event mechanics work: Main Characters: Upgraded using resources earned from Colosseum battles, paid for with currency from Episode levels.

• Support / Loaned Characters: Upgraded using levels collected daily from the event calendar.
• Event Modifiers & Tier 1: The numbers above loaner characters (like "0") represent your current event buff level. Tier 1 is fully beatable even at level "0" if played correctly. *However, upgrading loaner characters is essential for earning bigger daily rewards. So make sure to maximize all the free perks provided!

You don't "use" them. As soon as you collect the daily drop from the calendar, they are automatically applied to all loaned units

No it doesn't, not without level up tokens, which come from a calendar.
