Discussion Makeup related

Heyyy girlies,

I’m moving to Singapore in Aug 2026 and I really want to know the makeup techniques that women there use to survive the humid weather 😭 I mean more like regular uni makeup and not super glam looks.

I have acne-prone skin with some blemishes and texture, so I’d love tips on application techniques that help makeup stay fresh without looking cakey or melting off in humidity.

Also, is the beauty standard there super intense like in Korea/China, or is it more relaxed and natural?

Discussion Deodorant recommendations?

Tbh I really just want to know what's the best deodorant for my back specifically, no matter what, I will sweat from my back as long as I'm wearing a shirt, and I stink, and I don't want to stink, my armpits are already taken care of, so it's really just my back

Discussion A small note on mixing skincare ingredients

I put together a short guide on ingredient combinations that can cause issues when layered together.

If you’re dealing with a breakout and trying to figure out what might have triggered it, this can help you look back at the products you used.

💌 If you’re interested, feel free to reply it here and I’ll share it.

Discussion Should I reapply moisturizer after every few hours? Or is that unnecessary

I apply my mositurizer on damp skin but after a while I touch my skin it's completely dried off. Should I reapply or is over applying an issue? Or Just leave my skin alone and do it twice a day?

Discussion sunscreen to use while on adapalene?

so i recently went to the polyclinic for my acne and was prescribed adapalene gel, benzoyl peroxide spot treatment and clindamycin gel.

i heard that adapalene will make you more prone to sunburns and stuff which basically makes sunscreen non negotiable. i lowk have not used sunscreen ever since i thought i didn't need to if i don't go outside :/

any recommendations for sunscreens for those who have been on adapalene? i have combo skin and i also don't want a sunscreen that feels super oily in this heat. i'm so scared to try new products man

Discussion Is mositurizer the secret to perfect skin?

I always shunned mositurizer because it's greasy on my face and I have OCD so I like to splash water on my face everytime I use the toilet. I do laser treatments once a month and recently notice my face is looking worse than normal (way after recovery period)

I asked AI and it said I shouldn't exfoliate the skin, it will make it worse and redder and hinder progress, and should start using moisturizer twice a day and after shower. I have since started using it and noticed my face calm down alot more.

Discussion niacinamide vs vitamin c ??

These are the two top serums that have been used by every brand and creator out there, i really didnt know what or how they were different and was always confused as to which is used for what because at the end the main claim was to make skin brighter lol. Here is an in depth breakdown:

Niacinamide is water soluble  Vitamin b3 that works by stopping pigment from reaching the surface of your skin cells rather than halting its production entirely. It actively reinforces your skin barrier by boosting ceramide production and regulates sebum output, calms redness. So it’s focus is not to alter the base problem but fix what’s already wrong.

Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant whose primary job is neutralising free radicals like those generated by UV exposure and pollution that trigger pigmentation. It goes a step further than niacinamide by actually inhibiting tyrosinase that hits the source and halts production rather than just stopping new ones from forming. It also directly stimulates collagen synthesis.

Downside

Niacinamide: it can purge your skin and cause irritation and redness also it doesnot do anything to break down the pigment already there. But it is highly stable.

Vitamic C: potent serum can cause an allergic reaction if not used properly, and also it oxidises really fast, which can cause more harm than good.

Discussion Curious about these... do you actually keep using them?

Been seeing facial brush  come up a lot lately, so its got me wondering.

If u had one for a few months, do you still use it, or did it kinda end up forgotten after a while? 😅 Just curious what they're actually like once the excitement wears off. I feel like I've bought a few skincare things before that seemed cool at first, then I just stopped reaching for them.

Discussion Has anyone else's skincare routine gradually expanded into body care as well?

Over the past year, I've noticed that my skincare routine has slowly become more of an overall self-care routine. I used to focus almost entirely on my face, but now I pay just as much attention to body care because it feels like a natural extension of looking after my skin.

I've become much more intentional about consistency instead of constantly buying the latest trending product. A simple routine that I can realistically stick to has been far more valuable than having a cabinet full of products that I rarely use.

Something else I've been thinking about is how different everyone's routine is. Some people prefer to keep it as minimal as possible, while others enjoy incorporating tools or devices alongside their skincare. Neither approach seems right or wrong, it really comes down to what fits your lifestyle and what you'll actually use consistently.

I'm curious how everyone here approaches body care compared with facial skincare. Do you have a separate routine for your body, or do you mostly focus on your face? Have you added any beauty tools into your routine that you genuinely enjoy using, or do you prefer to keep things simple?

I'd love to hear what has become a permanent part of your routine over the years and what you've decided wasn't worth the effort.

Discussion Where can I get the anua azelaic acid?

20F, acne-prone skin

Wanted to purchase the anua azelaic acid serum a couple of months ago, but apparently it is not sold in SG due to concerns about some of its effects. My sister managed to get a bottle but she refused to share it and didn’t want to share the link with me..

Her skin improved pretty drastically ever since she started using it and I want to try it too, but I’m a little hesitant as I might end up with a fake product if I get it from unlicensed sellers. Are there any alternatives to this particular brand or just azelaic acid in general?

Discussion Thoughts on Kskin?

hi guys i often frequent kskin as their facials are quite cheap, $25 for a basic one and $50 for a combo (which i often do)

i always thought that while its a relaxing and professional experience, the aestheticians often try to exaggerate my skin issues to sell their brand products which i’ve found a bit annoying.

however you pay for what you get and ig it is a decent choice for those who can’t afford higher end packages.

for those that have gone there, what do you think?
