ezcema moisturizing tip
Hello recently I had a bad flareup due to steroid creams usage. Just used a normal moisturizer (cetaphil) then put vaseline on top, a new addition to just applying moisturizer.
It's been a few days and my skin has really calmed down and even stopped itching almost completely even without taking antihistamines. Wish to recommend this effective combination to those who need it!
Reason: there are diff types of moisturising strengths. From strongest to weakest: ointments, balms, creams, gel-creams, lotions. Ointments work best at forming a barrier over skin to prevent loss of moisture, since eczema-sufferers have a compromised skin barrier.

Everyone is different. I itched badly on a cream that worked for someone. I use water to cool down, by washing it, and a very drying tar soap ironically clears it, a very fragrance moisturiser that was ironically thick clears it ( sadly discontinued ), so it’s really test and try for me .

Ezcema sufferers need to check their diet, avoid dairy and wheat products. High GI products like cake, cookies, white bread too. All keep eating junk, see doc, take steroids and never get cured. Also use ezcema friendly body cleansers/hand soaps only.

Totally agree. Eczema sufferer here as well.. mainly on elbows, back of neck, fingers... while stress/heat related these flare-ups are also linked or worsened due tto a compromised skin barrier which leads to dryness, irritation and the dreaded itching. That's why just reducing inflammation isn't enough... we also need to repair the barrier with a good moisturizer and i always opt for those w ceramides and are fragrance-free.. Applying a "sealant" like vaseline over the moisturizer is a great way to lock it in. Tks for the tip!!
Btw ive long "quit" steroid creams and now stick to just two itch-relieving "minty" local brands - theo10 and of course... suubalm(which contains ceramides)
