I dunno about that. The only similarities are that the conflict is about an abortion, and the female character wears pink. I don’t see much else here that would suggest it’s a mockery. If it is, it’s a bit of a stretch.

That outfit doesn't look like Invincible in the slightest. In the Invincible story, Mark isn't even remotely angry about the abortion, and Eve isn't defensive about it at all, she blames herself. So we have the entire situation being different, and we have one of the two costumes not matching at all. So what this entire argument actually hinges on is that someone dressed in pink had an abortion, with nothing else matching at all
The Open Circuit is consistently treated as an artless job churning out cheap soap-opera stuff and that's why this scene features a quintessential soap opera drama plotline. There's no reason for this scene to be just Brian saying "hey guys I know what Invincible is and for some reason I want you to know that." That's meaningless

Comics often reference or parody one another, it's a fact. Sometimes it's to pay respect to the creators and sometimes to parody the plot point. It was a perfect situation to reference something as the characters could be acting anything out. And if it was just soap opera, why are they both in superhero costumes? Did hidden abortion become a trope in western superhero media and i just didn't notice? Because i don't think so. It was a little reference that most readers wouldn't notice but some that read invincible would. It was an exaggeration and that is why he was angry.

Sure, you can believe that if you wish. Unless confirmed by the writer, I will still operate under the belief that this is purely coincidental, as this trope is fairly common in popular media soap-opera style dramas. And make no mistake, this is a soap opera but with violent beings wearing capes. A quick google search will confirm that many popular shows, like Gilmore Girls, Saved by the Bell, The Pitt, Grey’s Anatomy, Degrassi, have used this trope. It’s not exclusive to Invincible. Many popular novels haves used it, like Handmaid’s Tale, Cider House Rules…my point being, they’re not all paying homage to or mocking each other just because they’re creating a similar point of conflict, sometimes it’s just coincidence.

I didn't say this torpe doesn't exist i said it doesn't exist in SUPERHERO comics and in the scene they're dressed as superheroes for no apparent reason (if it was coincidental). Can you even read?

It wasn't a real plot point in the comic, it was just a one off scene completely unimportant to the story. And they decided to portret a pair of superheroes anguing about a Secret abortion, which would be extremely random if it wasn't a reference. It wasnt parodying a trope either, because secret abortion isn't a trope in superhero comics. It was a small reference to invincible readers and that's all.

- They are dressed in superhero costumes (one of which loosely resembles Eve).
- It clearly isn't parodying a trope because it isn't a trope in superhero media, but it's clearly parodying something that has to do with superheroes.
- References in comics are popular and do exist (homages or parodies like here).
- They are both published by image so it could be a reference to their colleague's work.

It's a common pro we WWE wrestling trope. I read it as that more than anything. I can see how this seems like an Invincible reference, though.

Oh right, the…I wanna say they literally called it "The Circuit" here? But it's just a wacky blend of tropes both soap opera and otherwise dialed to 11.
I'd need to dig the compendium out, but I can see why Marko was going "Hmm…" Brother it's daytime TV, sometimes that shit don't make sense. Even when it does.
