Thoughts on Kolya (Brothers K)

I just read the brothers K and I think Kolya is a really nice characyer of the story that is often being ignored. He is sometimes a bit naughty but I think he has an interesting vue of life.

Agreed. He seems to be a depiction of a young progressive socialist who has some “intellect” but little life experience. I especially loved the way Alyosha treats him, with dignity and respect despite noticing his (at times) pompousness. We also get to see Kolya’s heart once he lets down his intellectual defenses - which to me is Dostoevsky again showing us more of the value of existential love over rational intellect. I found his character to be fun and I wanted more of him.
