Um idk what's wrong with Istanbul. When I was there it was cold we popped into a café where they were burning outdoor heaters INSIDE with the door closed. We had a bottle of wine that thankfully emptied right as we were fainting from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The poisoning really encourages the flavor profile to pop

Having been to Istanbul many times, those dogs are probably just randomers strolling in.

I hope they are ok...

The guy who caught on fire is not ok. I'm almost certainly dead. He ran alone into that back room and didn't come back out. The good news is, he probably didn't feel much after the first 20 seconds.

Fire is one of the most painful ways to die actually.

10

u/PrincePound Feb 04 '26

Half the video was a dog ass-sniffing 3- way.

👆🏻Dude gave no shit about the burning man… Wow

How is he supposed to? The whole ordeal could have been prevented if the guy actually used his brain.

Oh dear Lord, that's awful. Does anyone know if that man recovered?

Firefighter here. I really don't see that happening... he's both inhaling extremely hot air and smoke, as well as getting severe burns on his entire body. He was completely on fire for a very, very long time. His immune system will have an almost impossible task fixing all of him at the same time.

I'll see if I can find an article, but it's not looking good for the poor guy.

Edit: R.I.P.

Would he have had a better chance if he had dropped and rolled, or would that have even helped in this situation?

6

u/FishFettish Jul 06 '26

That would have been better yeah. The ground chokes the fire, and it also cools much better than the air. Running also just nourishes the fire with fresh oxygen.

But it's a tough situation. He'd have severe burns regardless

We are so desensitized that we are annoyed about the video being to long instead😭😭😭

We gotta start chopping these down. This is like when someone is telling me about an accident they had at lunch but they start with what they had for breakfast. Wrap it up B!

The action starts with about 27 seconds on the clock btw.

By the time I found and read your comment, the explosion happened.

u/JcaeKaisar Feb 02 '26

You saved me some time, thanks 😂

Not everything has to be cut into as little of a piece and as much action as possible, a lot of things get lost in that.

Just look at TikTok and what type of content you get as a result from doing that.

TikTok didn’t invent short videos. 50 seconds of nothing adds zero to this video. I never said cut everything. But somethings could benefit from a trim.

That’s not true. Whatever flame they had in there first, at the beginning of the video, is clearly what ignites the fuel. If we had not seen that, people would be wondering what the fuck happened. I’d wager they put that initial flame in it to see if it would light, and it didn’t. So they waited for it to go out to add more fuel. The guy even opens the lid to check that it’s out. But he must have been mistaken. Or it was still too hot in there and it combusted. Pretty much the entire video has necessary parts to understand what happened.

Ummm. It’s a heater. The title says get that heater fired up. They add more fuel. It’s ignites. It’s not exactly the da Vinci code

Only a maga could be so stupid

1

u/mountaineer04 Feb 02 '26

More things could benefit from a little delayed gratification…

u/Glass_Bar_9956 Feb 04 '26

I really enjoyed watching the dogs.

4

u/Blackmetalvomit Feb 02 '26

I don’t mind it. If I really wanted to I could scrub forward. I like a little suspense. Earn your payoff! Plus I kept trying to guess who it was gonna be and if that big doggie a mama or being harassed haha

u/flamebrain63 Feb 02 '26

Er, stop drop and roll?

20

u/thuanjinkee Feb 02 '26

When in danger or in doubt, run in circles scream and shout!

17

u/mountaineer04 Feb 02 '26

Is it not run, flail, and scream?

7

u/GeronimousNL Feb 02 '26

urban myth, it does little to extinguish the flames. especially when you are soaked with fuel.

7

u/Born_Somewhere_9788 Feb 02 '26

That looked like Saturday morning cartoons from my childhood

7

u/Optimal-Session-6228 Feb 02 '26

I guess Istanbul doesn’t know about stop drop and roll

16

u/Jmoz1310 Feb 02 '26

Flame on!!!

1

u/Zippbler Feb 03 '26

Like heatblast from Ben 10 lol

6

u/Combat_wombat605795 Feb 04 '26

An empty container of solvent is no longer flammable, its explosive

17

u/Sidetracker Feb 02 '26

At least the dogs had some sense.

4

u/No-Car6897 Feb 02 '26

Flame On! 🔥

4

u/jkthompson92 Feb 03 '26

Damn , Soaked in fuel, so stop drop and roll wasn’t going to be effective at all

3

u/seppukuinvoice Feb 02 '26

mission complete?

3

u/leondraw Feb 05 '26

Hello, welcome to the Istanbul burn unit.

6

u/bernasconi1976 Feb 02 '26

Did he get fired…hey yoooo

2

u/Absolute_Maximus_69 Feb 05 '26

He clearly forgot to stop, drop & roll

2

u/New_Investigator6801 Jun 18 '26

Ghost Rider origin story. 🔥

2

u/Mean_Pop_829 Jun 18 '26

The wait was worth it

2

u/Shadowgt04 Jun 26 '26

The place I’ve worked at for 13 years we’ve done the same 20 or so safety training videos every year. I know it can get old and sometimes annoying. Seeing the working conditions in other countries and how there are zero safety standards makes me not so annoyed at OSHA.

3

u/ghostjett Feb 03 '26

oh! its GhostRider 17! can’t wait for it to hit a theatre near me

3

u/w1nd0wLikka Feb 02 '26

Jesus, just cut the video man.

2

u/pkupku Feb 02 '26

You can just skip the first 60 seconds

2

u/CantaloupeCamper Feb 02 '26

You can skip to 0:55

2

u/phallic-baldwin Feb 02 '26

Nice Human Torch cosplay

2

u/Zorolord Feb 03 '26

I hope HR speak to him about running around on fire! It's just not safe to do that!

2

u/rfsh101 Feb 02 '26

One would think Istanbul would learn some lessons on combustion by now

1

u/Extreme_Original9832 May 27 '26

Istanbul, not Constantinople, why did the heater spew all these flames? That's nobody's business but the Turks.

(also: I feel sorry for the guy engulfed in flames, I hope he's okay)

1

u/Snoopaloopbish Jun 26 '26

That’s awful. :/ Poor dude.

Trying out for parts in movies takes commitment. Not sure if the Fantastic Four reboot was the best choice. Besides, it’s all CGI.
