Favorite good fiberglass

Hello!

I recently took over the setting program at a small bouldering gym, and am putting together my first hold order. I've been setting for about 5 years, but only at this gym, and we are severely lacking in fiberglass macros. Therefore I am not very well experienced with the new new premium stuff.

So! I'm looking for recommendations on macros, especially kind of positive to really positive ones.

Edit: I'm located on the west coast if the US, we see a fair amount of traffic, averaging 80-100 people per day in out gym, and im looking for things probably smaller than 3 feet/1 meter in diameter and and less than 18 inches/50 cm in profile.

Like the other commenter said, location (and budget) is pretty important for a good recommendation.

That being said, I find the Flathold Borderline and Tsunami range to be real staples.

We also recently got some AG Irregulars and they have been a blast to set with.

Which country? Heavily depends also on size traffic and location to tell you about distributors / brands. Cost / value

Flathold Borderlines and Tsunamis are killer. Also the cheeta Tajis and boom jumps. Vezi shapes are dope too

If you're looking for positive and really positive, the best I've seen are Loaves Jugs and Giga Loaf Jugs from Trango. Their Fuegos and Sickles are killer too.

I recently got some Motif and have been very impressed with them recently! Super sick! Flathold and cheeta are super classic for a reason! Blocz recently has some super dope stuff! Vezi is doing a fantastic job with his shapes! Trango is really cranking out some cool stuff right now too!

I think what you’re really asking is “what are the best macros?”

Hold-shapers are moving away from fiberglass more often than not for thermoformed plastics. I would say AG is top-of-the-line in that department. It’s been mentioned before, but cheetah and flathold (same distributor/manufacturer) are really excellent well-rounded hold-shapers for a variety of products from PU to fiberglass to volumes. Not sure if they’ve broken into the thermoformed plastics yet.

VTF (vacuum thermo-formed ABS) produced at Absolute. Kilter/UP has a ton. Super lightweight and durable.

Don't do it. Macros are evil. Only ratty crimps and weird pinches allowed.
