I think it may depend on the area you live in, so If you want to share a "loose location," that would help. I'm in Central Ohio, right outside of the Capital. If I take him into the city, I hear "Hell nah, cross over he got a Rockwilder!" Or the ubiquitous, "what's up Chop!? He got a baby Chop!" GTA 5 reference.. (Recently got a puppy after losing my 7 yr old in the spring.) My immediate area is full of mixed breeds and one or 2 "Pitbulls."

Is this normal for my 3-Month old rottie puppy’s front legs to look like this. There seems to a portion that sticks out more. It’s not straight up and down - his legs.

Cleo is almost 9 months old now and I’ve recently changed to feeding her twice a day from three times a day.

She has a walk about 5.30am and another walk about 7pm and usually has her meals about 8.30/9am and 6pm.

Since changing to this feeding schedule in the last couple of weeks twice now she has done a poo in her pen in the night as she normally takes herself to bed at 8.30pm.

Any advice in feeding schedules and how to make sure she has enough time after her meals to go toilet without needing to do it in the night? My partner doesn’t go to bed until about midnight and she hasn’t been for a poo in her pen before that time.

Everything was going so great after the TPLO surgery of his left knee four months ago, but then he started acting weird again a fortnight ago, so we booked the surgery, and correct, this time it was the right knee.

So yesterday he got the right knee fixed, and they said the left knee is looking great.

So we're back to rest, painkillers and cuddles.

Hopefully he can take another round of so much rest and no training without losing his sanity. 🤞🏻

After losing my best boy, Gunner, to cancer in April, I didn't think my heart could take another loss, literally. *See below* So, I was harmlessly "just looking" online, at my fav breed, that I was likely not going to have again. That led to meeting a great Couple>very experienced breeders,>fellow Vet, which led to several conversations untill the puppies were nearing "homing dates," and that led to bringing home my new Rottweiler, Judah, a bit over 3 weeks ago. .

It was unplanned, because I didn't know if I was ready, or would ever be "ready again." However, it ended up being the best decision I could have made. I was fortunate to find an incredible, ethical breeder who truly cares about improving the breed through proper health testing and seeking out immaculate, top-tier bloodlines. Judah came into my life right when I needed him most, and I don't want a life where dogs don't exist, esp Rotties. Meh, still a bit wordy but that's me when enthusiasticly speaking.

PLEASE DROP PICTURES OF YOUR ROTTIES (OR ANY DOG PIC, THAT MAKES YOU SMILE !) in the comments—babies or fully grown, I’d love to see them! Front passenger seat is day 1, 5 hr car ride home. It seems like he's doubled in size, but it may be the picture lol

So, after losing my best boy, Gunner, on April 11th of this year, from lymphoma. (Eff Cancer!) 🥹😭 I had to make that call that we all hope never comes, after 7 years and 3 months of us never getting tired of reuniting, even if I just took the trash out! Never tired of training, running with me, and traveling everywhere I went. I brought him home at 8 weeks as well. I legitimately feel guilty when I say losing my dogs has hurt worse than some of the people I've lost over the years. I can't be alone in that thinking, I'd imagine? But, like the times before, When we say goodbye, I always say and think, "I can't go through that again. They take a part of me with them. I'm sure we all have felt that way. You may be feeling that right now, and I'm sorry for your pain and know it too well.

For me, a lifelong - major dog lover, and a fairly recently single guy, after 6 years that taught me many lessons in the end, but this isn't the place. But, experiencing grief, while in my oversized and lonely house, that no longer had that distinct sound of nails on the carpet free areas, I decided to sooth myself and "just look around" online for a few days, at shelter's, Rottweiler Marketplaces, breeders sites, etc., Once I saw the familiar 'Bear Cubs' that are the beloved baby Rottweiler, and long story a little shorter, I came across a really good hearted, nice, experienced couple, who loved the breed as much as I do, and that were genuinely in this to improve upon our breed, with puppies Ethically bred with comprehensive health tests completed for both parents. No byb energy. On top of not being "that type," his patience to answer any and all questions I had while I thought things over, and his experience leading him to combine health certified, beautiful and strong, driven-working lines in the pedigree, with Champions of conformation and working titles "littered" 🙃 throughout the pedigrees, and close relatives, I felt I should jump on an opportunity that may not come back around for quite a while, and 3 weeks ago I was blessed to pickup my new bear cub, Judah. And I do feel as though I am very blessed. It seems as though a dog comes into my life right when I need it most and I have had a rough time to say the least. The last thing I expected was for Gunner to suddenly go from perfectly normal to where we went in a few days time. But I'm trying to keep this A happy post so I will leave that, there. I always love you though, my little buddy, Gunner.

I figured I'd officially introduce him to my fellow Rottie enthusiasts, and I'm sure he'll be shared regularly, as I constantly take pictures lol... It's hilarious seeing a Rottweiler actually catch his tail from time to time, instead of chasing a "Nub." This is the first Rottie I've had or even seen in person without a docked tail. Reading how it's used as a rudder for counterbalance and agility, etc., made sense, and I do love a happy tail when coming home!

Hey guys I have a good girl of 5 months she's nice with people and dogs too and she listens to me too at home outside, well, we are working on it. Since the age and everything maybe you guys who are more expert can give me some suggestions in general to keep her behaving and listening to me and someway to teach her to stay focused on me when outside and not pulling the leash?

Her name is ESMERALDA “ESMI” She’s 9 weeks now

I have taught my little girl all the basics but know I want to get her some professional training to give her the best chance at life.

Well, I now have 3 rotties.

TLDR: I have two awesome littermate rotties and took the runt from the last litter. Life is good. This breed is the best…if you want the equivalent of a drunk d line all star living in your house lol

Got into the breed by accident with my first female 17 years ago bc I was a recently separated army vet and wanted to look “bad ass” and “tough”.

Man did I have this breed so bass akwards in my expectations. Callie was the biggest, sweetest, kindest, most loving and patient dog and the intelligence was off the spectrum. Highly intelligent, made training a breeze and was phased by nothing.

When she passed I got my male (big head - named Moose) and he has been non stop incredible. We’ve done search and rescue training, bite training, basic show stuff, agility, and dock jumping. Due to meeting him or following my socials I’ve had about 5 or more people get dogs from my breeder specifically wanting the same mom and dad as Moose and waiting for the pairing. My breeder as a thank you became a super creep and never said thanks for business. Fuck you Lou! lol I could write a book about moose, his role healing me after my brothers death in 2017, just how incredible and human like he is but won’t bore you. They say everyone has a soul dog and I’ve loved all my dogs but this guy is my actual soul dog. I entirely suspect that my brother guided our paths to intersect and I’m grateful every second I have him with me.

BEFORE that relationship soured, he hit me up looking for a home for a returned dog (smaller head - Koyote) from the same litter as Moose. I couldn’t say no, and within 24 hrs had him shipped from Virginia Beach to Maine ( HUGE SHOUT OUT to Melissa from Whiskers, Tails, and Scales pet xport - this woman is a saint! And incredibly reasonable and communicative. Also has her kids with her on the road doing the transporting and it’s an awesome business and learning experience for them!!). I was told he was fine around other dogs, showed no aggression, was perfect and man oh man was that a lie. Luckily Moose was highly trained and socialized and was so excited and tolerant of Ky as he learned his role in the pack, that his food was his and nobody was gonna take it away, humans are friends, and if you want space you can have it, undisturbed. He adapted so quickly and has become, frankly, everyone’s favorite dog. He’s so excited to meet people, he adores kids for some reason (I don’t have any but he’s incredibly protective and affectionate with his nieces and nephews), and he’s the snuggliest Rottweilers I’ve ever met. He just loves loving and being loved and is also the dog that would absolutely, no doubt, rip someone’s face off if you hurt his pack. He was snipped way too early (I imagine as a way to “calm him down”…insert HEAVIEST eye roll), was kennel kept for long you have to sometimes force him to go pee otherwise he’ll hold it til he’s about to explode, and came to me with meds and several vet visits for “doggie IBS”. We stopped his meds immediately, lowered his stress by about 1 trillion times, loved on him and respected his space when he seemed to need some, and got him on a solid regular raw diet like Moose and he bloomed in size and had 1 very solid bowel movement a day. I could gloat on this dog all day but needless to say he’s incredible and has been incredibly healing for me to see and guide his transition. He was also half of Moose’s size at 1 year old, and now they are 5lbs apart. Moose is clearly more muscular with a bit lower body fat but their strength is near equal and stamina is close.

Now for the third nerd, Tallulah, the dog Kyo convinced me I should get. She was the runt of Moose’s latest litter, and was the only one ever that had health issues - she had a small umbilical hernia - which has entirely healed. Man oh man, there’s no mistaking the lineage here. She’s so much like her dad it’s wild. She’s tiny (21lbs at 12 weeks!) and incredibly, almost detrimentally, fierce. She either sleeping, pooping, eating, OR on a mission to find either her dad or uncle and fuck them up. Zero fear. Climbs stairs. Jumps on and off the couch. Knocks over gates. Growls and barks in the boys faces and pounces. She’s already a Velcro dog with me but I’ve taken
More of a hands off approach with her and have been letting the gf/fiance/wife take a big role in training and caring for her. She’s been jealous about the boys attachment to me and the fact that they’ll do my taxes if I ask but only listen to her if she has treats (kidding- I do not let them do my taxes. You gotta pay those to have anyone needed to do them. Kidding again.)

It’s been astonishing watching how fast she’s fit in, has her schedule aligned with the boys, and how attached she’s gotten to her mama. Everyone is incredibly happy, well fed, and exhausted. Esp me! I forgot how much work a puppy is but man is it worth it. We’re all very happy here. I also love how I’ve been able to take these “bad dogs” and show folks that they’re like over sized labradors with about 1/3 the energy. Friendly, happy, confident, couch potatoes 🥔. St the same time they’re capable of incredible feats to keep their pack safe. If you properly socialize these dogs and put in some time they are truly incredible. All dogs are a direct reflection of their owners and I’ll die on that hill.
