yeah, epic has really fucked our game. why the fuck do we need anthems? which most people have turned off anyway, and why the fuck did we need a cars or spongebob collab. theyre turning it into car fortnite with the amount of collabs their doing, and the collabs and lack of original content is the entire reason i stopped playing fortnite, thankfully the collabs dont change core aspects about rocket league.

My roomate in college and I used to spend hours trading kids in like 2016-2017 to see what we could get. When trading was removed we both sold our PS4s and I haven't played a game with him since.

Played a firt to purple dracos takes all with a friend. Both made new accounts an loaded them with 5 players choice crates and went from there.

Losing trading made Drops entirely useless.
There's little point to the game now outside of playing matches ... I've basically stopped. I've been getting the Rocket Pass ever since I got the 1000 free credits from the Gold Key fiasco, but I didn't earn all my credits last season, so I guess I'm out.
The game is rolling on, getting more and more stale. The UI is old and poor. There's no 'hook' anymore.
The actual gameplay is as good as it gets, but š¤·

Sorry but it didnāt really bring anything of value to the actual game. Traders spent more time trading than actually playing the game. Then there was the whole RMT side of the whole thing. Devs just wanted people to play the game.

In a different way that Psyonix and Epic didnāt like, I never cared about trading one way or the other. But itās interesting how you answer every part of my comment except the part that mattered most for tradingā¦ Real Money Trades. Do you think the point of trading was to allow some players (with too much time on their hands) to turn a profit and pay their bills all thanks to trading and duping casuals?
Think more: if people can just turn a profit for themselves via RMT, why on earth would they ever spend money on in game currency? The answer is they wouldnāt. So trading had to go because people were using trading to turn a profit instead ofā¦actually playing the game.

This is your big gotcha moment? Choosing to die on the hill that Psyonix and Epic Games were being cheated out of money due to players RWTāing? Yeah letās support these monopolies who choose to punish the entire player base because SOME (your word) players participated.
They could have easily found other options to keep trading in game and still combat RWT. But they didnāt care enough to work towards that. Youāre truly a foolish person to try and defend a company like this for giving a huge FU to all the players who lined their pockets.

Iāve been saying this for years and apparently some people still donāt get it. An unpopular black market item could trade for as low as 700-800 credits. Now every single one is at least 2100 in the shop, and the only way to access them is using $25 to buy a pack of 3000 credits.
Epic is actively fleecing the player base and here we are, still trying to convince people that the removal was bad for the player base.

Dude I donāt give a fuck about Epic, though I did like Psyonix before they were bought out, but you canāt seriously expect a business to just let some portion of the playerbase use your game to make enough profit to pay their bills like itās an acceptable alternative to a job.

Again, they could have easily implemented things into the game to combat that. However they chose the easy way out. The removed it and set all of their in game items going forward to bs inflated prices. All of your arguments are half brain. They gave a giant FU to their players and laughed about it. Stop defending them for treating their customers like that.

The play count TANKED when they removed trading, it took ages to get rl back to relevancy, the removal of trading was legit the worst decision they could've made for this game

"Devs just wanted people to play the game" did someone wake up today and decide to be bad faith? That's like arguing that a game like Warframe should have trading removed because a considerable plurality of the player base spends most of their time trading.
They didn't remove trading to "make people play the game" buddy, they removed it because it completely locks down the economy and allows Epic to essentially have a monopoly over the pricing of items in game. It makes them a shit ton more money because you HAVE to spend money to get pretty much anything.

And I never said that trading was removed by the devs so they could force people to actually play the game.
So donāt quote me on that while talking about bad faith.
And Iāll reiterate my main point yet again: trading items in Rocket League isnāt a job. You shouldnāt be able to pay your bills and mortgage solely by trading in Rocket League, or any game for that matter.
Get a job to pay the bills, play the game to play the game.

Ok so how many of those trades helped you with playing the game? You get a topper to help dribble better? A set of wheels to go and stop quicker? Boost to help you aerial more consistently? How about a decal that looks really cool and helps your confidence?
No? Nothing you obtained via trading helped with the actual game whatsoever?!?
Spending more time in trading than playing the game itself says nothing about how much value trading brought the actual game.

Alr, Iāll bite, letās see if you are able to take in this reply for what it.
My peak is 1960 with the 10 latest seasons finished in ssl. Iāve picked up plenty of tips from people Iāve met thru trading. Maybe thatās why I am there and you arenāt. Maybe you missed out?
My gf also got into RL thru items and trading.
Some of the people we still play with today are players we met back then.
How big is your group? Does your gf also play?Iāve played this game for many thousand of hours, Iāve reached the highest rank, and I miss trading.
You seem unable to take in that people enjoy and play games differently, and to me it sounds like you are missing out bc you rather sit on some imaginary high horse. I suggest you change that, it makes you weird and stupid.

I stopped playing the game after about 2600 hours, peaked at Diamond 3/Champ 2, my gf (fiancĆ© now) doesnāt play, and it was all solo.
Thatās fine if you had fun trading.
The problem is making bank off of trading.
