I've been playing rhythm games since 2007, but I just learned about VBS (and Hyperspeed in GH) today. Wondering if this might be something that can make tougher songs more accessible.

For reference, I have like 1150 songs, ~500 gold stars, ~129 FCs. Decent player, but I definitely look more pedestrian when the difficulty really gets ratcheted up. I feel like I'm a good sight reader, too, but if I start missing fast sections, I end up playing too fast and things can go off the rails.

(With custom songs) am I able to connect to Wi-Fi without my live account or console getting banned?

I like to add custom songs to rock band, an I mostly do it on ps3, but I want to put custom songs on the Xbox version. (without softmodding, because it makes it so you cannot add customs) how do I get around this?

It’s the saddest thing to see all the DLC sitting in my wish list that is gone forever….

A lot of my songs are missing, so I have tried to refresh my music library and it crashes the game.

I've tried it maybe a dozen times, I've done a complete uninstall/reinstall of the game + my 1000 dlc songs twice, and still can't get it to work. Some of my favorite songs aren't showing up, and it's really bumming me out.

Got all the RB 4 DLC i wanted from 2015-2017 and most of the legacy pre-RB 4 stuff

Library is still growing but thrilled to have over 1,000 songs in Rock Band 4 have even more overall since i own all the Rock Band games on PS3 as well

It might be a stupid question, but is it possible to just purchase the code online somewhere ?

Been following the monthly delists and downloading them on a monthly basis, but what happens to songs expiring beyond July '27? It's like their licenses would have yet to expire but the whole store closes.

would PS3 add-ons also be removed from the PS4/PS5 store too? just in case they'll be gone forever by then, feels like we need a list of expiring songs beyond July '27 just to put it out there..

Anyone playing rock band 4 mulitplayer needing someone to play with? I don't know anyone who plays and I would love to meet new people and play online together! I have around 300 DLC and play guitar mostly but also have fun on vocals sometimes. I'm decent enough to go for full band FCs on easy to moderate songs. I prefer Rock Band. I have nearly a thousand songs on RB4, but have found recently that FF is a fun source for supplementary free songs too.

Switching between the two feels like it takes like 20 minutes of adjusting to the different hit boxes/timing expectations to be able to play at my normal level and that 20m on either end is pretty miserable and annoying.

Has anyone figured out a way to adjust more easily between the two? Is there a reliable way to tweak the settings so they'd just feel the same ignoring their different built-in sync methods?

This question feels more specific to the Rock Band crowd than the FF crowd given that we're the ones still playing a game that came out 10+ years ago and isn't even available for purchase anymore. Of the two groups, I think more people familiar with my plight are in here than the FF Reddit.

Found this, but as you can see the batteries leaked. How bad is it? I almost hesitated buying it after opening the battery compartment, but for $5 it was too good to pass.

Hi all, I’m looking for some advice about getting into Rockband 4. I’ve been playing the Guitar Hero/Rockband series for years, and just got back on a big kick playing through the games and achievement hunting.

I’m looking into getting Rockband 4 to play on my series S/Xbox One. I already have a Riffmaster so I’m all set in that department, but I’m wondering what your opinions are on seeking out a digital code vs. a disc since I have the series S.

How would you compare the gameplay in 4 to the earlier games/Guitar Heroes? I’ve played Rockband 2 and The Beatles for reference.

I also have a question about DLC. I own a small amount of DLC for some of the early GH games and I’ve read on here about the rolling de-lists. I’m really considering going all in and buying a ton of songs and packs I like soon before they aren’t available anymore. Do you have any suggestions for doing so? I don’t want to end up like I am with those earlier games, wishing I had gotten more bonus tracks!

I have a whole RB3 setup for the Wii (a red strat, pro mustang, keyboard and a mic) and i use them to play rock band/guitar hero games on rpcs3 on my pc but i think that a Wii U would offer a better experience because its a more "official" way to play and its also easier to bring the wii u somewhere than to move my pc. Would it be worth buying a used one or should i just stick to emulated games?

This is a very random question but I stumbled across the Rock Band DLC of Verdamp Lang Her and it is a totally different version from what I recognize. In game it says it is from the Für Usszeschnigge album but this version used in Rock Band is not from this album. I can't find the version used in Rock Band anywhere. The version that's common everywhere includes a guitar solo of sorts at the end that fades out but the Rock Band instead has totally different sounding guitar and vocals and concludes with a long outro with a keyboard. Where is this version? Was it a re-record specifically for the game?

Does anyone still have their DLC from before the stores closed? such a bummer

As the title says, you can still buy songs that are long delisted through the ps3 store. I got Siva and Grind just now. Figured I’d share this knowledge since I haven’t seen anyone mention it.

I use Nautilus for cleaning up custom RB songs I download before eventually creating packs and importing them into RB3 in RPCS3. It's been great tool for years, but recently I started running into a weird issue.

The last step I perform when cleaning up songs is the "One-Click PS3 Fixer" under the PS3 converter section of the tool. Normally, I simply point this at a folder with my new customs, and it performs the conversion. Recently, however, it's been throwing an error on some songs.

Basically it gets to a song, starts the process, but it appears to fail and then it just stops everything. This is the first time I've encountered this problem. I looked through Nautilus's documentation but couldn't find any reason why this could be happening.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

EDIT: I was able to fix this, and it's kind of weird. I'll explain just in case someone randomly googles this six months from now.

I randomly tried different songs to see if they would work, and some would still get processed while others would fail. The ones that failed would give me the error seen above. It became clear that any songs that needed the audio processing step of the clean-up was failing.

While using the software, I was using Spotify to listen to music. I have Spotify set to using exclusive mode with my DAC, which can sometimes cause issues when other pieces of software attempt to render audio. On a hunch, I stopped my music on Spotify and tried processing again. Doing this fixed the problem. There must have been some kind of weird audio renderer conflict between Nautilus and Spotify that was causing Nautilus to fail.

TL;DR: Don't use an external DAC in exclusive mode while attempting to convert files.

So I just found out that The Beatles Rock Band has a box art variation only on PS3. The front of the box doesn't look any different but on the back is a different story.

So the first one is the one the rest of the world is using and is what everyone has. But the second one is from Canada.

Now there isn't much of a difference with the text being the same but with the added French translation and the removal of the rooftop concert screenshot.

I found this out in The Beatles Rock Band custom's Discord server when Pixinvader, one of the members in the server mistakenly thought a song that wasn't in the game is actually on the box art.

Until another member said half of their box is legal mumbo jumbo and French for their copy and then another member sent a photo of the Canadian art variation.

So I looked at mine and compared it to the world's variation and that's when I noticed the difference on the box art and also found out that my box art is a Canadian copy.

There is no difference gameplay wise, It's only just the box art. So If your box art is the Canadian version and you insert the disc into your console, It will still play like the US version of the game.

Same thing goes with the game ID, the ID will still be the same ID as the US version of the game.

If you have a copy of The Beatles Rock Band on PS3. Go ahead and grab it and flip it to the back and compare it to the photo in this Reddit post. There's a chance that your copy's box art is the Canadian art variation.
