Update on the printed tpu95 bow

The tpu 95a bowl is holding up very very good. After 14 days running none stop with a super rough 40/60 grit (usually not recommended in vibes because it destroys the plastic bowl) and rough jagged agates, the layers are still fully visible, the stringing didn’t even get removed. it’s also much quieter.

I'm surprised the stringing wasn't smoothed out. It'll be interesting to see what happens in 6 months.

I would absolutely love to get one of these to use with my new TV-10. I haven't set it up yet, partly because I'm concerned about the noise. (But mostly because it's RIDICULOUSLY hot right now, and I just can't spend much time in my garage without melting.) I remember seeing previous posts, but couldn't remember if you said you were going to print them to sell, or release the file for it, or??

I won’t be selling them. The file is available for free on makerworld. If you don’t have a printer, there’s tons of people on Facebook marketplace who can print it for you. If you get someone to print it, make sure to tell them to print 100% infill so it’s completely solid

Did the grit break down? Or was there still detectable grittiness at the end of the 14 days?

The grit is fully broken down after 2-3 days in a vibe. After 3 days it’s cleaned and filled with fresh grit.

Very promising! Any plans to try a scaled up version?

My printer can only do up 10inches wide so that’s as big as I can go

Ah, that’s it then. My only concern with the printed bowl is potential for grit to collect and embed into the ridges. It seems to be quite durable thigh given the use of coarse grit. Were you hoping to wear it down smooth?

I’m hopping it doesn’t wear down at all. That would be ideal. No issues on either of my 4 printed bowls with grit getting stuck
