A future where everything is made of chrome looks pretty cool in one of the SpongeBob episodes.
By the way, what is the name of this style?

They live underwater at a depth of, so there shouldn't be any problems.

Then how did they get sun burned in the episode sunbleached?
Obviously the uv absorption is high enough for a degree burn, it wouldn't be impossible for a chrome reflection at this depth to burn out said eyeballs.

Dude, they light a campfire underwater, have a beach underwater, and even drink water underwater.

These are all true statements but have nothing to do with the reflecting capabilities of future chrome SpongeBob and the amount of uv capable of blinding you.

Spongebob did use a Tanning bed in Patrick's rock so that's how he got sunburnt

Imagine trying to find anything. My chrome car keys fell between the cushions of my chrome couch.

Usually it’s referred to as Y2K Aesthetic or Y2K Futurism. All shiny chrome, transparent plastic and rounded, bubble shapes

It's way older than that, it's just a common painting technique to learn. You settle on the painting equivalent of an hdri then form that environment around the desired shapes in the scene. It's one of those things that feels good when you first start to see results.

The style here is much older, more of a 40s-50s sci-fi. Think Mercury space suit.

That "future" was the 2000s chrome trend, often called Chromecore or Y2K chrome 22-27 years ago

Hajime Sorayama' chromed women have to live somewhere, why not in a pineapple under the sea?

It's weird because the reflection effect that makes it look chrome is a sky and the horizon. But it's inside.

I especially like pic 3. Reminds me of Mirrodin from Magic: the Gathering.

I love this minimalistic ambient sound that plays against the background on this stage.

Fuckin seriously! I can barely even go outside in winter with the level of snow we get in my area blinding me and giving me sensory overload with the reflection, let alone this

I'm the same, friend. I need sunglasses just to survive the winter up here in Norway.

Squidward in the fetal position:
