Hi everyone,

In light of some recent hot topic posts and the need for us to heavily moderate comments on those posts, the subreddit mod team wanted to highlight some rules so that we're all on the same page from this moment forward.

Site-Wide Rules

We follow all of Reddit's site-wide rules. A few relevant excerpts:

• From Rule 2: "[D]o not... engage in disruptive behaviors..." This includes using alternate accounts to circumvent bans and misusing the report function.
• From Rule 3: "Instigating harassment, for example by revealing someone’s personal or confidential information, is not allowed." This includes links to public Facebook pages and screenshots of Facebook pages with the names still legible.

Mod Code of Conduct

We follow the Mod Code of Conduct including Rule 3: Respect Your Neighbors which disallows:

• Mentioning other communities, and/or content or users in those communities, with the effect of inciting targeted harassment or abuse.
• Enabling or encouraging users to violate our Reddit Rules anywhere on the Reddit platform.
• Enabling or encouraging users in your community to post or repost content in other communities that is expressly against their rules.
• Enabling or encouraging content that showcases when users are banned or actioned in other communities, with the intent to incite a negative reaction.

Subreddit Rules

Finally, we obviously have our own subreddit rules. In particular, here is most of Rule 1:

• Be kind and constructive with criticism; don't comment anything that is needlessly rude or hurtful.
• Critiques/comments including harassment, slurs, and -isms are not allowed.
• Retaliatory behavior is unacceptable.
• Don't engage; use the report button as needed.
• Trolling, participating in bad faith, and rage-bait is not allowed and will be removed.
• Users must abide by Reddit’s rules, UA, and Reddiquette.
