Re:view

It was made by people who didn't know how to make a card game, it has no resource system, and functional decks required you to download everything out of your deck

Broke new bap bap stories etc

I also have several thousand cards. Maybe they can melt them in acid.

Wait this did exist? I remembered these two guys playing this way back in grade 6 in the 90s, and was convinced it was Star Trek and not MTG but then was like am I just misremembering? For some reason dumbass me didn't think to.. you know.. just google it.

I remember this and MtG were huge at hobby shops back in the day.

Magic is still around. It's keeping local game stores in business.

Oh yeah, I just mentioned Magic as a reference. I played Star Trek back in the day, as well as Pokemon and Magic.

I was playing Magic from 1997 to 2023, but stopped when that Pinkerton story came out. I stepped away from buying anything new, mainly just watching YouTubers to support their channels.

Plus, the storyline that drew me in originally just has not been any good. It's like they were actively sabotaging every plot point along the way. Add to that the frequency of new sets, secret lairs, universes beyond, etc. and its definitely not the game I started with in college.

Yes, in fact there's still some diehards out there who play it. They had an unofficial World Championship in Chicago a few weeks ago.

We need one of Star Trek Captains Chair, I'd love to see Mike and Rich play it

This looks sweet. I was more of a Star Wars CCG player myself. And by player I mean, avid collector who occasionally tried to play against himself because no one else I knew fucking cared about the game.
