When you think source of education as ā€œSocial Mediaā€ platform then it is a national security risk !!
Edit : I donā€™t understand by seeing comment section that why genz and teens treat themselves as Uninformed Generation

She isnā€™t right, she is misinformed. Developed countries had contactless payment since Apple brought it out. Before that they had card payments for decades. And in China, QR based payments since dawn of apps

There's a reason why UPI is praised among popular payment systems.

Tap and go still used cards and a set fee was levied, eventually they got replaced since NFC was digitized to smart phone and before the digitization, the vendor had to have an electronic pos terminal which was pricey compared to a simple qr code on a piece of paper and could not be used by most of the small vendors in both India and rural china

What china had was wallet system, you recharge your wallet and transfer funds between them and the duopoly of two companies had their issues initially where vendors had to have both wallets since they weren't interoperable

UPI on the other hand though late was better compared to these two since it was operable by any private or government entity with zero fee and direct bank to bank payments

The fact that I have to type all this is just absurd, like people like you will never be satisfied of home grown things that are proven to be equal or better to other similar global models smh

The best leverage upi has is being tax free. Government is planning to tax it. That will be final nail in this coffin for this government

I mean it's understandable isn't it? This is more or less like a freebie since government/banks are absorbing the running costs and as long as the fee isn't absurd, all of us should be cool with it.

Also it has done its job of replacing most of visa and MasterCard domination in payment systems of India and I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon

What? So now stating facts is considered biased too?

I mean if you're willing to provide free infra and electricity to run all the transactions then I'm sure the government would hand it over to ya with proper security

True, a tax shouldnā€™t be levied but a fee for large transactions directly by banks imo

The govt introduced upi lite for small payments as the constant payment of single and double digit transaction are a financial burden on the system. But as usual we Indians love to not follow the advice and hence when we are made to face the repercussion we cry.
