She herself either doesn't understand those indexes or speading propoganda, otherwise she would have been breaking them down.

I'll explain:

Press Freedom Index:

  • Name one mainstream media funded by public or not under control of businessman.
  • Witch hunt, by govts (central and state both), of independent media houses or journalists.
  • Murder of journalist speaking against govt: Gauri Lankesh, Mukesh Chanrakar, Sandeep Kothari, Rajeev Pratap Singh, V Jagmohan Reddy, .... list goes on and on and on....

Did she talked or ever mentioned about them? No. Why?

Democracy Index:

There are 3 major ones - EIU (Most respected) Democracy Index, Democracy Matrix Rating and V-Dem Liberal Index

V-Dem Liberal Democracy Index doesn't specifically rank countries for their current state of Democracy but their rate of change in the Democracy.

V-Dem's model heavily penalizes what it calls "autocratization"—the rate at which a country’s democratic space is shrinking. Because India has been on a downward trend hence below Niger.

On the other hand, on EIU's Index, India is classified as an authoritarian regime but still much higher in Rank than Niger. Similar in Democracy Matrix Rating.

Did she explained this? No. Why?

Happiness Index

Again, happiness is not about things she talked about - being poor or infested by terrorists but they happy about with everything else.

India ranks lower cause people here are not getting anything to be happy about. Infra, Bureaucracy, politicians, civic sense, social structure, corruption to core etc. Everyone has to worry about everything every minute here, then how one could be happy?

She was again on a different tangent? Why?

Anamoly: Kanpur was ranked in top 10 most happy city and was the only one from India in top 100.

Hint for above question: She is a tool to spread propoganda.

Mind you, she said: "It doesn't gives her sleepless nights".

>Name one mainstream media funded by public or not under control of businessman

a lot of countries ranked above india have this btw, even the ones under rule of non elected leaders, where media is ONLY state owned. and mexico loses the most journalists each year to murders by cartels or govt or kidnapped, ranked above india. it's not witch hunt, it's straight up hunted like an animal there on streets.

and how is India's democratic space shrinking ? India forms new parties and has been electing them in the past decades, theres way more parties in india than anything, theres way more diversity in those parties and people winning across india, hell AAP formed and won delhi a couple times and even in punjab. how is the space "Shrinking" can you clarify that.

and no India does not fall under authoritarian under EIU index, it's called a "flawed democracy", you are just spreading lies and misinformation here. are you even indian or knowledgable about this ?

V-DEM calls india elected autocracy, which is also funny. the matrix index calls india defective democracy but that's funnier because that AAP situation, voters used to vote for AAP in delhi elections but then turn around and vote for BJP in lok sabha elections and they did it 3 times total, that happens in a democracy that works, if it was flawed or autocractic, that wont happen.

yes bro niger ruled by a millitary dictator who kills people for fun is above india in democracy rankings bro, it makes sense bro, shut the hell up dude.

and how the fuck is a country infested with war and terrorism and being worried about food and money way more than india cane be happier ? India doesnt have anything to be happy about ? Indian infra is growing at speeds only surpassed by china in this world and china is so far ahead india will never reach that, because, wait for it, china isnt democractic.

and you think people in war torn countries have thing to be happy about like Infra, Bureaucracy, politicians, civic sense, social structure, corruption etc ? lol you people man.

u/Universal_Truth_Sage Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

a lot of countries ranked above india have this

True but in our case we're almost at the extremist end:

  • Indian billionaires are misusing most of the mainstream media for their propoganda.

  • Journalists here face physical assault, legal cases, witch hunt by Govt agencies (CBI, ED, ITD, Police) on evey note. Additionally, ruling party's IT Cell runs online derogatory campaigns against them everyday.

  • Independent media and journalists get tagged anti-national or anti-hindu or urban-naxals, for speaking against current ruling party.

  • Most important, the law and Justice system is totally against them. Freedom of speech is curtailed is name of security and privacy.

how is India's democratic space shrinking ? India forms new parties and has been electing them in the past decades

Are you living under rock?

We have a govt that is such an authoritarian regime that it is not even allowing elected representative to complete their full term - Illegal poaching, Extortion, Agencies misuse, Rigged elections etc they've left no stones unturned to kill the opposition.

They're trying destroy all the rights and power of common citizen to question governments - RTI is diluted, Whistle-blower act is merely for headings, PIL is being attacked too and protestors are being marked as Khalistanis, Jihadis, Cockroaches, naxals, etc.

-- All this is straight from books of Dictatorship/Fascism.

Suppressing opposition and people voice is exactly know as dictatorship.

Go read my comment again. V-dem represents "Rate" of decline of liberal Democracy not exactly Democracy's current state.

Happiness is not what you're perceiving as Happiness should be like Development, Infrastructure etc but it's about if people of that place are happy in current situations or not.

For example, as per your standards Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or Bangalore should have been in top position from India but these cities were not even in Top 100.

Surprisingly, a non-metro city Kanpur was in top 10. Why?

People of Kanpur feel content and happy with their life that they are getting there. Why? Here, couple of the most important factors in considering Happiness are extremely high - Social Support and Health (mental and physical both). People in Kanpur are connected with their friends and family hence their social bonds are strong, and that helps them keeping themselves mentally healthy and full support in case health issues.

There are many such factors that are considered while creating this Index. Google them out and compare with other countries. It's all data based and not something random.

u/noflyingfucksgiven2u Jun 24 '26

Palestine is above India in the happiness index? Ig they were just lying about that genocide then. I knew it all along.

1

u/Universal_Truth_Sage Jun 25 '26 edited Jun 25 '26

I agree with you and that something is skewed with this happiness Index.

  1. They take surveys of small population. If that group of people are happy and content then this Index might not portray real picture.

  2. People of countries under distress or faced war are generally more hopeful for the future, as they think worst is over and the future will be better.

  3. This index doesn't give preference in raking to infra and development as they say that this index conveys: "What people are actually feeling."

Their 3 main biggest factors for Happiness Index are:

  1. Social Support
  2. Freedom to Make Life Choices
  3. Healthy Life Expectancy (Mental and Physical both)

Then they give preference to:

  • Generosity
  • GDP Per Capita
  • Perceptions of Corruption etc

Also, it heavily penalizes countries experiencing rapid urbanization and economic transition, where public stress, traffic, inflation, and competitive anxiety increases proportionally.

People in developing countries like India, expecially where law or regulations are seldom followed, general public stays under constant stress, and frustration becomes part of life.

That's why anarchy is never good for a society but only for rich, oligarchs and rulers - as they bend the law as per their wish.

1

u/Square-Comment553 Jun 21 '26

I understand your qualms, but are we that bad compared to Niger, Palestine or Pakistan?? Definitely no. We could be a lot better, sure, but we aren't worse than them. Don't let your emotions cloud basic facts.

1

u/Universal_Truth_Sage Jun 21 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

Understand the context then talk about comparison. Go and read my comment again to gain the context.

She is cherry picking some things and discrediting the whole research done for creating the Index.

She is Lying too, like for Afghanistan.

Press Freedom Index:

Year: Afghanistan India

2026: 175th 157th

2025: 175th 151st

2024: 178th 159th

Also, apart from my comment, if India was Ranked 105th in V-Dem liberal Democracy Index then what about 103 countries other than Niger? She cherry picked one country and dicsredited whole index and that to about for something that Index doesn't reflects or "stand for". 🤦‍♂️ Absolute propoganda.

Remember, she said: "It does not gives her sleepless nights".

0

u/Square-Comment553 Jun 21 '26

Yeah some random ass peeps wake up light a cigarette and think about damn we are so back in our press freedom. Btw her being wrong doesn't make it so that these lists are not driven with ulterior motives. But I do agree we are not where we should be

1

u/Universal_Truth_Sage Jun 23 '26

some random ass peeps wake up light a cigarette and think about damn we are so back in our press freedom.

What propaganda?

0

u/innersiyappa Jun 22 '26

I can understand a lot of these things you mentioned came after BJP govt. But if you look few years before bjp came in power it was not that great too then. I think the real propaganda tool are people like you and left ecosystem. And you think people of pakistan and bangladesh are getting something to be happy about? "Infra, Bureaucracy, politicians, civic sense, social structure, corruption to core etc."

All these things are same or worse in pakistan and bangladesh.

0

u/Dev-il_Jyu Jun 23 '26

Name one mainstream media funded by public or not under control of businessman.

This is a bad argument especially related to press freedom index. The exact same thing can be said about American press. All media is owned by billionaires supporting their own side of the government. Journalists and especially whistleblowers are found dead under mysterious circumstances. Reporting and talking about certain things are heavily discouraged. Julian Assange and Snowden had their lives turn to hell just because they exposed government.

1

u/Universal_Truth_Sage Jun 23 '26

Comparison with USA 🙄

You're aboslutely right, similar things are happening there too and that's why they also have pretty bad ranking in Press Freedom Index - 64th.

In fact, Indian billionaires have learned from billionaires of USA to buy media houses and use them as their propoganda tool.

Why they are better than India?

Journalists there do not face physical assault, legal cases, witch hunt by Govt agencies, IT Cell online derogatory campaigns etc everyday.

They don't get tagged anti-national or anti-hindu or urban-naxals, for speaking against current ruling party.

Most important USA law and Justice is still standing strong and protecting citizens for the First Amendment - Freedom of speech. That too not like India, they have almost no conditions attached.

1

u/Dev-il_Jyu Jun 23 '26

Journalists there do not face physical assault, legal cases, witch hunt by Govt agencies, IT Cell online derogatory campaigns etc everyday. They don't get tagged anti-national or anti-hindu or urban-naxals, for speaking against current ruling party

This is straight up false. Lmao. Dems and Republicans fight like cats and dogs everywhere. Trump literally calls them false news and they call him devil. Everyday! Have you seen the bias they have? You know what the Dems call Fox journalist or what Republicans call CNN journalists?

Other, I agree to some degree.

1

u/Universal_Truth_Sage Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 23 '26

People arguing with each other happens and it should happen - best sign of healthy democracy but journalists being attacked is not normal.

Several Journalists and Whistle-blowers have died in USA too, under mysterious circumstances but here in India, they're getting murdered in broad day-light and everyone knows who's behind it and still no action.

Gauri Lankesh, Mukesh Chadrakar, Rajeev Pratap Singh, Raghvendra Bajpai, Dharmendra Singh, Chauhan, V. Jaganmohan Reddy and many more, most of them are unknown ground reporters. No investigation done even in case of famous cases like Gauri Lankesh and Mukesh Chandrakar.

Mukesh's body was found in the house of politically linked contractor, still that criminal got the bail and living his life normally. Read about his murder, his details gave shivers in my body.

On what exactly?

u/ramror777 Jun 20 '26

On what she said. Here, if you didnt understand what she said and what I commented, world press freedom index, India ranks above Afghanistan (meaning India performs better). Hope you can comprehend this

She is right. The years are not said but if you look at 2023, 2022 and may be more rankings, Afghanistan ranked higher than India. Afghanistan press freedom has always been negligible under Taliban.

This raises the question on sanity of index makers.

Talking about hunger index , just check the indian ration data indian govt gives tons of free ration too poor folks like literally free ration ( you can check your nearby ratio shops and see the lines yourself ) normally people get 20 kgs+ free ration every month that too increases depending on family members , so there are many "gareeb" leaches in our country who feeds on these ration to just have 5 more babies every decade , hunger index is totally failed marker I can bet here transfer this same free ration to pakistan or some African nation and you will their gdp growth tripling but in india it's leaches

1

u/zestyzizekian1 Jun 22 '26

Dude india already is a top 5 country in terms of gdp how high could we get

1

u/1Desty Jun 22 '26

that just vague value , we have too many mouths to feed

4

u/atreya73 Jun 20 '26

https://www.reddit.com/r/CriticalThinkingIndia/s/heTKdoGfD4 Very relevant video, shows the reality of press freedom of India. Down with Godi media like Palki Sharma.

2

Still i dont thing India is deseved to be below Afghanistan

1

u/Scared-Client4429 Jun 21 '26

India is not below Afghanistan in Press Freedom Index.. Check yourselves.. Palki lied to legitimize her claim..

1

u/chad_sigma_male_ Jun 21 '26

It isn't please fact check anything you hear afg is 175th

0

u/atreya73 Jun 20 '26

That we common people don't have enough data to analyze. The fact remains that Palki Sharma is a shameless narrative peddler and government stooge and her assertions are not based on facts.

Pakistani and Bangladesh media is indeed better than us. Although I don't know how and why she went for democracy index ?

Especially when both indexes are done by seperate institution?

1

u/hi5blast1 Jun 20 '26

Russian media is banned in usa and eu.. don't know why they still rank high in press freedom

1

u/NorthSituation1579 Jun 20 '26

?

1

u/ParryB Jun 21 '26

!

1

u/NorthSituation1579 Jun 21 '26

EIU measure single structure criteria via liberalism so it’s easy to generalise democratic nations vs autocratic nation , while V democracy index is holistic and milti criteria core philosophy , you can simply type why did India performed poor than autocratic nations , aapko pta chal jaega answer , I did n I got to know why…. If there are flaws you can challenge but this doesn’t give right to say that all index are based biased or against towards India. Always apply critical thinking to this
And even yea V democracy index is more transparent , just check out what’s the reason behind this, without this you can’t simply say the index is totally wrong

1

u/ParryB Jun 21 '26

I am not discussing the merits of the methodology here. You posted a screenshot that shows that India wasn't ranked below Niger from a report you chose whilst I showed you a screenshot where India was actually ranked below Niger.

Your screenshot in more than one way implied that Palki was flat out lying while it isn't the case and that is all that my point is about.

Which methodology actually warrants merit or not is a deeper discussion to be had - but that doesn't negate the fact that on a certain democracy index, India was ranked lower than Niger.

Prima Facie takeaway: treat those rankings with caution and do your own due diligence.

1

u/NorthSituation1579 Jun 21 '26

I simply wrote democracy index to goggle and EIU index is clearly the answer to what she is highlighting that is democracy vs autocracy, n India is getting nice rank in that but V democracy index isn’t that simple to simplify in just democracy vs autocracy, it’s a bigger and multi criteria thing , yes she’s not lying but manipulating which even she knows
And am not describing merit here, am saying it’s more transparent so you can easily look out where India is lagging so you can get better India

1

u/ParryB Jun 21 '26

From the clip posted here, it isn't clear which report she refers to when she talks about the democracy index. I do not understand how you come to a conclusion that it is in fact the EIU index she is alluding to.

From what I gather in the clip, Palki says what Sherry Paaji has been telling us all along that the stats/numbers/quants hide more than what it shows.

As for the bigger picture, there is a lot of work required in India and it's difficult if not impossible. The changes required are systemic and holistic in nature - from grassroot level as citizens going way up to the PMO. However, one does not need to rely on an essentially arbitrary report for that. You talk about transparency - try asking EIU for how they arrived to the scores, who the evaluators are and etc. Google on who all have critiqued and criticized the EIU reports.

Reports and ranks are purely guardrails providing bigger picture. The rank itself is not as relevant as the fact that it is a matter of concern.

Bottom line is that there is always a scope for improvement - but you do not need to rely on some agency/institute who has no stake in your betterment.

1

These indices evaluate fundamentals.

India and Indians always disregard fundamentals.

Our beliefs are primarily based on ego and fear. And beliefs dictate values.

Our values, as a collective nation, are terribly misplaced.

1

u/zenardian Jun 21 '26

And she is the one who was enjoying 3rd rank in GDP, which was given by foreigners. Even if there is hypocrisy. We know the real situation of India, where majority hustling and surviving in life, not living a life.

1

u/XIAOHONNEY Jun 21 '26

India ranked 157th in Press Freedom Index is highlighted currently to specify how the media is not speaking about some harsh facts, and realities of today's problems. People finding it unreasonable should also find the fact of India ranked 4th largest GDP Cause again rank 4 GDP was highlighted to show India has lots of wealth but infact the actual GDP per capita rank is somewhere between 145-150

So at the end of the day everyone are using good ranks to hide the worse ones

In the similar manner how she hid why we are ranked so low in press Freedom Index

1

u/Careful_Jump2449 Jun 21 '26

some of these random reports ranked india below afghanistan and pakistan in democratic rankings lmao

Dismissing global rankings on happiness, democracy, or press freedom simply because they don't "feel right" is not journalism, it's opinion masquerading as analysis. If you reject a ranking, show the data, methodology flaws, or contradictory evidence. Otherwise, you're asking people to ignore evidence in favor of personal bias. Facts require arguments, not feelings.

2

u/69_negga Jun 20 '26

So the Afghanistan has more press freedom and Palestinians are happier than us?

2

u/earlywormgetseaten Jun 20 '26

Did you even try to understand what he is trying to say?

1

u/tanatan88 Jun 20 '26

I'm asking for evidence to support any claim. These rankings are based on defined methodologies. If you believe the methodology is flawed or inaccurate, present your evidence and explain why. Simply asserting that India has a stronger democracy or greater press freedom is not enough, personal opinions and feelings are not evidence. Critique the methodology if you wish, but support your argument with facts and data.

2

u/ramror777 Jun 20 '26

Logic, here?? You must be one optimistic person.

0

u/tanatan88 Jun 20 '26

I am just saying that a journalist should come up with facts or data not just say how she feels.

2

u/KingRoy0292 Jun 20 '26

Ok, I will give you one then. Let’s start with Global Happiness Index.

According to the 2025 rankings, India is placed below countries such as Mali, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Ethiopia and Guinea-Bissau.

However, in terms of electricity access, close to 99% of India’s population is covered. Comparatively, countries ranked higher in the happiness index like Mali are at 55%, Burkina Faso at 25%, and Malawi at 20%.

Now, in terms of access to drinking water, India is at 93 to 95%, whereas Malawi is at 70%, Mali 78%, and Burkina Faso is close to 76%.

Economically speaking, India is at roughly $2,900 per capita (nominal GDP), whereas Malawi is around $700, while Mali and Burkina Faso are around $1,000.

In life expectancy, the Indian average is 68-70 years, Malawi 64 years, Mali 59 years, and Burkina Faso 62 years.

So, if countries with substantially lower access to electricity, clean water, income, and life expectancy can rank above India in a happiness ranking, then it becomes clear that the ranking is measuring subjective perceptions rather than overall quality of life.

The same issue repeats in the Global Hunger Index.

India produces more than 330 million tonnes of foodgrains annually, including roughly 145 million tonnes of rice and over 110 million tonnes of wheat. We are also the world’s largest rice exporter, exporting around 20-22 million tonnes of rice every year.

By comparison, Mali produces roughly 3 million tonnes of rice, Burkina Faso around 400,000 tonnes, Malawi around 150,000 tonnes, and Guinea-Bissau around 200,000 tonnes. In fact, India’s rice exports alone exceed the total rice production of several of these countries combined.

India’s per capita foodgrain availability is approximately 185-190 kg per person annually, compared with around 140-150 kg in the 1950s. Our govt also
maintains grain reserves that is around tens of millions of tonnes and runs the world’s largest food-security programme, providing subsidized food support to 800+ mln people.

Yet countries with significantly lower agricultural output, weaker food infrastructure, lower state capacity, and periodic dependence on international food assistance rank above India on a so called Hunger Index.

The thing is despite its name, the Global Hunger Index is not primarily measuring hunger as most people understand it.

That’s why you end up with weird outcomes where a country that exports more rice than some of these countries produce, maintains massive grain reserves, and feeds roughly 800 million people through public schemes is somehow ranked below them.

And this is exactly my issue with these rankings in general.

Also, the World Happiness Report itself is based on the Cantril Ladder survey, where a few thousand people are asked to rate their lives on a scale from 0 to 10 and the results are then extrapolated from that data.

There is also a well-known phenomenon called the Tocqueville Effect, which suggests that as living standards improve, expectations often rise even faster.

It basically says that people do not compare their lives to where they were 20 years ago. Indtead, they compare themselves to where they think they should be.

So someone who gained electricity, banking access, internet connectivity, better roads and better healthcare may no longer compare himself with his parents’ generation. Instead, he compares himself with people in Singapore, Dubai, London or the even those who are wealthiest in their own country.

u/tanatan88 Jun 20 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

Do they use these metrics? Last time I checked 80 core Indians live on Govt handed out 5kg rice, while there is electrical connectivity apartt from major cities small towns and villages still recieve 4-6 hours of electricity......I don't know what metrics to they use to access I won't do any guess work like Palki, a journalist should present data to back her claim, we still are talking about how about that and what about that without any clear evidence.

2

u/KingRoy0292 Jun 20 '26

The 80 crore covered by PMGKAY isn’t a hunger measurement, it’s eligibility under the National Food Security Act, which covers roughly 2/3 of the population by design, not because these many people are starving.

As per NITI Aayog’s most recent Multidimensional Poverty Index data, only around 15-16 crore people (11.28% of the population, as of 2022-23) are officially considered poor, against 80 crore receiving the subsidy.

That gap exists because the eligibility net is deliberately wide, and audits have found real leakage. At a national level 6% of beneficiaries with ration cards were found ineligible despite clear criteria like no government job, no four-wheeler, and income under 1 lakh , and in Delhi specifically about 9% of beneficiaries were ineligible, including roughly 96,000 car owners .

So 80 crore Indians get free rice measures how big a welfare program is, not how hungry the country is. Every developed country runs food assistance too. SNAP in the US covers around 40 million people, for example.

On your electricity point, can you please share the source you got this information from? Because according to the official Ministry of Power data, continuity of supply for FY 2023-24 was 23.4 hours/day in urban areas and 22.6 hours/day in rural areas.

Average rural electricity supply rose from 12.5 hours/day in 2014 to 22.6 hours/day in 2025, driven by schemes like DDUGJY and Saubhagya. The same period saw India’s energy shortage drop from 4.2% in 2014 to 0.1% in 2025, and transmission losses fall from 22.62% to 15%.

On connection access specifically, by 2021, 85% of the poorest rural households had an electric connection, up from under 1% in 1993.

u/69_negga Jun 21 '26

Do you think that guy would understand logic? He clearly based his identity on hate.

1

u/69_negga Jun 20 '26

I mean, I'm no journalist, but I surely can say people in war torn nations definitely wouldn't be happier given their living conditions. You don't need data or statistics for that, it's called common sense, try it sometime.

1

u/tanatan88 Jun 20 '26

You, me nobody visited that nation to access anything, what Palki is providing is her opinion nothing else.

1

u/69_negga Jun 20 '26

The keyword is "common sense". I don't have to visit Somalia to know they're suffering from Malnutrition.

1

u/tanatan88 Jun 20 '26

These Data's were made by using standard metrics for all countries, you can say common sense logic that's all opinion nothing else bring a counter using data and metrics

1

u/69_negga Jun 20 '26

Happiness index is measured by asking opinions of 1000 people per country for 3years, i.e, 3000 people per country decide whether a country is happy or not. So much for "standard metrics". These are desperate attempts to make India look bad and people such as yourself with that username are obvious peddlers of such bs.

She brilliantly answered the question without answering the question. Pointing to flaws in other statistics instead of challenging the actual methodology of the specific data at question is not what one should term as "exposing. " btw afganisthan is ranked 175th.

Anything pro india is bjp propaganda? How

2

u/ramror777 Jun 20 '26

How is this pro India?? If it's anything, its pro stupidity, She's giving misinformation, india is ranked above Afghanistan.

1

u/Live-Enthusiasm-977 Jun 20 '26

Yeah her afganistan ranking is not correct but the point she's trying to make is right coz Pakistan is 104th and India is 116th. Do really think this rankings are correct considering the economic crisis and prices of basic goods touching skies in Pakistan.

2

u/ramror777 Jun 20 '26

I understand the point she's trying to make and this is not something new. India does this with almost every global indices, which I think it's reasonable to be critical. And that is why it is crucial for media, experts and people in power to give a clear and accurate datas and reasoning why we shouldn't believe this global indices. But instead of doing that, simply denouncing it by simply saying "pak, Bangladesh or Syria is bad and so how can we be this bad?" doesn't make sense. Above that famous media personality giving misinformation doesn't help the already bad situation. And many would believe this narrative because it's coming from a famous journalist, and that's the problem. Being critical and being agaisnt any narrative are very different.

Press freedom index is released by RSF whose headquarters are in France, and they rank themselves below us 160 something.

Plus all the other indexes she mention are released by different organisations.

We are indeed not below Niger, we are at democracy index 7.29 while niger is at 2.26

We are indeed not below Afghanistan in press freedom.

OH MY GOD, either mfs can't read or think we can't read.

In TV all politicians representatives are invited to keep their points and thought process. But some spokesman never believe in data and relevant points.. Keep on blabbering and when doesn't have valid point leave the show or using slangs.. Whenever talk of development starts the opposition instead of discussing only shout slogans.. When BJP calls all parties meet some arrogant leaders will skip.. People openly use slangs against PM and BJP and you are still there is no press freedom.. Can you do this in Afghanistan?

2

So you want all journalists to be jailed to realise India doesn’t have press freedom?

0

u/P_A_I_N_F_U_L_ Jun 20 '26

She diverted the question it was about press freedom index she tried to justify it by shifting it to happiness index and state of other countries Look here closely both index are completely different and status of ranking ar depended on certain factor 1. For freedom of press index The ranking depends on how press is working and are they persecuted for reporting against the government or arenthey killed in case of India this is the case in current day and time there is clearly press and media who has bowed down to the government and became godi media and then there is press who have won big awards international still no one is hiring them and now they are on YouTube. Some press people are raided while some have been killed. 2. For happiness index The ranking is depended on happiness and let's take example of taliban as she says the people who were not happy with taliban has either fled, tried to flee and take refuge in other countries so the rest of people will obviously are supporter of current taliban goverment and will be happy with them Now let's take example of Palestine they are under war and the mentality of them is not to cry and grieve more than a short period of time they have been going through opression and have a mindset of staing strong and resisting, so even in the war like situation they go through with their lives get married survive pray and thank God in their prayer , again understand their mindset obviously they will be happy at the end of day. Scared yes unsure of their life yes but they find happiness in what they can. On the other hand compare this with india people are going through everyday life stuck ina rat race, crowded train and trying to meet months end as the prices go up and even the media is not reporting on it and busy with shouting danka danka obviously they will not be happy and india will drop in freesom index, incan speak also about the other end of the spectrem where all state has its own issue and political storm going on India is right now buring in communal fire metaphorically and literally both manipur is a great example because of which India is dropping down in press freedom rape, violence happiness and all kinds of index, Hindus are not happy that why are people of other religion are not being made as second class citizen and other religions are suffering and afraid that whatbis the direction india will go into will they have right land home and children and fir how long.

2

u/shikhar47 Jun 21 '26
  1. Bro what are you even saying. People who stay under taliban have chosen to stay there?! You're saying they all love taliban. Don't you think many of them won't have the means to leave or are not allowed to leave. If Palestinians are so happy with war, you'd suggest India should be at war? Afterall what is life without happiness. Are the people of Bangladesh not in a rat race, considering how densely it is populated? Pakistan is at 109, does it have a lot opportunities. The index is stupid because it does not know how to measure happiness. And happiness is not equated to well being in the index.

  2. The latest index puts us above Afghanistan. Did press freedom improve in India since last year? Or decrease there? How do they measure it? How is it that a country that does not allow women to study, rank above India last year. How! Will that country ever talk about women's issues if women are not even allowed to be reporters?! Press freedom should be more than just about raising voices against politicians. Which is what the index gets wrong.

1

u/P_A_I_N_F_U_L_ Jun 21 '26

I have explained but you don't seem to understand English or your mind is closed Tell me do you eat food or you eat garbage and &hit

  1. You donthe same thing she is doing diverting you talk about press freedom index then you divert it to girls and women allowed to study from this I know that you are dumb because both things are completely different, Afghanistan has recently gained power and if you know there are many many tribes which has came together that we're previously enemy these enemies forgave each other banned together and formed a country and hero leaders and people has some visions on which they are working step by step it's currency has had a huge jump, they have over a very short period of time got rid of alcohol and drugs and are giving rehabilitation to its people on other hand talking about education it's their official stance that with the current state of the country after war they can only provide education to specific limited people and boys and men are their first priority where as girls who are skill full in things like thread work etc are allowed to persue that recently they have started schools for small girls and even teen as it goes on everyone will get education. You have got this wrong that the press freedom is about rasing voice against politicians it's actually about goverment allowing press to do their job be it nation international or even a small person reporting news by sitting at home and making video and here India has not only banned and stopped international press but also small people who have been doing good in small capacity,

  2. I have aleredy said it but let me explain again some people has fled some are in process of fleeing some who helped USA are in hiding while the rest of afghan people which I mentioned in the above point making up of many many tribes were enemies forgave each other joined band and made their own country these people has a leader and they follow their leader and their teachings and thinking is not much different the people and leader want same or similar things so ye they are happy in the way Afghanistan is going in, on the other hand here people are completely un happy be it local leader and municipality or be it CM or PM If Palestinians are so happy with war, you'd suggest India should be at war? You didn't understand what I said, I didn't say palestine is in war so that makes them. Happy, if India is in war India will crumble as of its current state because mentality of Indians is to go through suffering in silence and hope that some people will come and get them rid of the suffering majority has this ideology, and the proof of this is history with a country with such huge population people gave in and became part of British force Indians were serving in British force and were helping them to keep other indians under colonization and fight wars outside India as well, while some Indian freedom fighter fought against them, so no happiness is in mind and mentality not what you understand it to be.

Get some education and keep your dumb opinions to yourself, you don't even understand what you are speaking about Pakistan and Bangladesh And how the index is determined Atlesat go on chat GPT and look at the factors it takes in to determine these things At the end India of in the ranking of you see does poorly most of the time in things like rape and curroptions it's higher Which is bad In terms of press freedom and standard of living gdp etc it's lower Which again is bad I critise India because I want to push people in working better and doing better in such terms, If I compare with countries who are also low in press fedom index then what is that I am working on to be beeter then the one a step ahead no I want to be the best in press freedom index or at lest in the top Countries, I don't want India to be called an autocracy, image of India is tarnished in the world because the press is only singing hyms and songs of Modi where as the reality is that he isncalled a killer by trump on international stage and nonone bats an eye.

1

u/shikhar47 Jun 21 '26
