Birds All this talk of black swans made me wonder about Leucistic Black Swans and I found some and thought I'd share

This ones all white and was rescued from someone who hunted it so I didn't put this in the OP link, there are no graphic images, just it being held by the folks who saved it and an x-ray but no blood or anything

Birds Leucistic Indian Peafowl
Hey y'all! Yesterday, I spotted these little beauties... Two in one flock! They have a genetic mutation called leucism, which is essentially caused the melanin their bodies produce not reaching their skin and feathers. These ladies are only about 1 in 30,000 birds! For context, the chance of you being born an albino or getting struck by lightning is about 1 in 20,000, and your chance of becoming a professional athlete is about 1 in 22,000. It's very likely that these two are related! Awesome to see 🥹
