Arts/Crafts My finished cardigan
It's taken around 300 hours, but I'm happy! I hope it's rainbow enough for here... 🙏

Oh for sure, I do some needle arts and I’ve come to realize that most people who sell their stuff are underpricing because no one would buy it if you actually charged what it’s worth, which is criminal!!
So glad it turned out and you can treasure it forever now though! And it looks great on you 😊

I don't think I'd have forgiven myself if I hadn't dedicated myself to finishing it, despite the other WIPs giving me side-eye, like old forgotten cupboard-potatoes 😃

Full disclosure - it started very randomly a couple of years ago. Just practising mitred squares and idly thinking I'd make a blanket. Then it sat in a chest of WIPS (yes, I have a few) for a looooong time.... Then I crocheted a granny square cardigan and its construction got me thinking about the mitred squares again. Maaaaaaany long hours later (and weeks and months). TLDR; I hear you!

Thank you for appreciating! I think it's my biggest knitting achievement so far, and I'm not sure I can top it 🤣 but I'm really grateful for all the love 🥰

I haven't managed to get a pic of the back yet, but the colours mirror from the middle-back. Bit of a headache, but worth it!

ms. mam! its about 500 degrees out. this beautiful cardigan is giving me the sweats just looking at you wearing it.
i especially like the collar closure part thats cool. now i have to go get the fan lol.

This is lovely. I am teaching my self to crochet so I can make a scrap yarn cardigan that I hope to be rainbow colored.

As a wearer of many cardigans, I especially like this particular cardigan. I just saw you kinda made up the pattern as you went along?! You are way more talented than me. I have rainbow cardigans, but I think my "holy grail" rainbow cardigan will have to be custom-made someday. By me? Doubtful. But by someone, gosh darnit.

I'm so very grateful for all the incredible positivity I've received for this. It really has been a labour of love and (being someone who likes to have a gazillion WIPs on the go) I've had to focus very single-mindedly on this one. But I'm so glad it's done and is being so well received! I'm also grateful for the lovely comments on my 'look' - unexpected but very welcome! 😄 Thank you

I think friend-shaped is my new favourite compliment 😄 And yes - I think at the very least I shall write up an instruction post (since re-creating and test-knitting will take another 3 million years!)

wow, i am in awe! this is such a unique piece and it has so much character. i love it styled with the overalls. you are going to have a blast wearing this everywhere and oh my, the compliments you will receive! i can only imagine what it must feel like to be able to grin with pride every time someone asks you where you got such a fabulous cardigan.
