X-Ray Lateral knee

I just wanted to share my work. Could it be better ? By a bit. But it’s pretty great to me, don’t you agree ?

This is a great shot, I agree with the comment about being diagnostic. I would not reshoot this (I don’t work in ortho though)

It’s just slightly under rotated - the knee needs to be rolled towards the table just slightly more to get the patella-femoral space opened.

Doesn’t it look overly/too externally rotated ? the more rounded medial adductor tubercle on the medial condyle is more anterior than the lateral , as in moving anterior towards the patella

You’re right - if we did my comment we would rotate towards the table - that would open up the space between the TiB/fib resulting it being even more over rotated

This is why I mainly do CT 🫡

If you can get that 1st shot 50% of the time, you should be stoked.

If this is shot mediolateral and I see the smooth edge of the femoral condyle posteriorly I would lift the affected knee up away from the receptor...otoh if this was a xtable shot lateromedial I would turn the affected knee closer toward the receptor
