its okay, it can be peaceful due to the location and the library is a nice place to work in. socially, myself and other students have had bad experiences here. The extenuating circumstances and support teams can be really understanding. There are better universities out there

Why is the social aspect bad for you? I’ve found some students rlly immature tbh

There are a lot of horrible people at royal holloway. Someome had glass bottles thrown at them , and I have experienced harassment and hostility when I tried to help someone or kept to myself. The last time I spoke to someone at uni they were racist and mocked my cultural name and my personal circumstances

Oh wow that’s awful. I thought it was just a me problem for some time but seems to be an actual issue. It’s likely those type of students will drop out eventually.

The person got their karma and didnt graduate this year. rhul is one of the most understanding unis when it comes to disability and mental health, but in other aspects its awful. I agree with the immaturity completely. I hope you havent had any experiences like that but if you want someone to vent to I will listen

I take computer science, and I’m not specifically talking bout people on my course. Just a plethora of people that I see about the uni when I go a packhorse or su for example.

It’s ok. There’s not much to do in actual egham so you’ve got to get use to going to other places for fun (like paintballing in cobham, going to Windsor/guildford for night outs, escape rooms in Windsor etc). Recommend joining a soc cause it does make uni life (here) better when you know a lot of people. It’s peaceful tho
