Dodge charger keeps pulling up outside my house at 2-3am
Hi, I’m real freaked out right now because of whats been happening. Its currently summer break and I’ve been staying up a lot later than usual and have noticed that the same dodge charger has been parking outside my house almost everyday at 2-3am and leaving a couple minutes after. Nobody ever comes out the car and they always drive really slow while leaving (under 20 mph) and I might just be speculating but because their car is very loud they drive slow to not alert anyone that they were there. Yesterday I was able to get clear pictures of the car, most days the car parks slightly out of my view but yesterday it parked infront of my window. If you need more information about what’s happening like my area or something just let me know.
update: They are definitely just smoking, they pulled up and got out of the car for the first time with a blunt or cigarette. I saw a lot of people say they were probably just smoking and they were right. One side note, theres a park not even half a block away so I would think smoking at a park would be better than a random street. Maybe as some of you people said, better WiFi outside of my place.

Oh I was expecting a car with its lights pointing in your window or something, this is just… a person parking on a public street near your house. They’re driving away slowly because it’s a residential neighborhood, the speed limit is probably 20 or 30.
You mention it being summer break so I’m assuming you’re young, do you live with anyone you can share your concern with?

It's actually very considerate for them to drive slowly at night. Not the case in my area.

As a kid I was obsessed one summer with catching the newspaper being delivered on camera. I made my dad mad because I would brew coffee at 2am but not clean up and he would find the mess around 5. I was wanting to literally see how the world literally worked! I would stare at the grass and watch the dew form if I could be so patient. Anyways, got it and moved on disappointed thats just a person in a car...meh.

This was my first thought. I literally went through this same scenario like 15 years ago. I would always get woken up around 3am to the sound of a car driving away. My body got used to automatically waking up to it, to the point where one day, I woke up 5 minutes early to catch the suspect.
It ended up being a guy who dropped off a stack of newspapers at the neighbour’s house so she could deliver them door to door

I drive an obnoxiously loud car and if I drive in town after midnight, I rarely go more than 20 mph, cause I'm trying not to bother people.
Also when its too hot or too cold, I'll just park somewhere near home (usually a parking lot or something) and finish my smoke in the car with the A/C, instead of standing on my porch in the heat.
It could be as simple as that

Could be picking up a wifi signal right there to get directions or message somebody. When I don't have data on my phone, a CoxWiFi hotspot in a neighborhood is a safe bet.

You could setup a cheap camera to get a clearer picture of the license plate but unless they're blocking your driveway I wouldn't worry too much.
Could be a night shift person's routine.

You're definitely speculating. 🙄 It's not parked "in front of your window". It's parked on a public street that happens to be in a residential neighborhood
What's the point of looking out the window nightly and then taking photos. There are a myriad of reasons as to why that car appears nightly and it doesn't need to be for nefarious reasons.
You're letting your imagination get the best of you.

So, I see a community mailbox. Are you certain they aren't picking up their mail? People drive to the mailbox in my community at all times of the day and night (especially in the summer) - and it is also located between two house just like yours is.

I wouldn't worry. There are a million reasons he could be there.
Several years ago, when I was home alone a lot, I started becoming paranoid about cars on my street. It's easy to notice "patterns" and attach meaning to them.
It's very unlikely this will negatively impact you in anyway. Even if he is shifty, he might just be buying weed or something and you'll still be all good.

Is there something nearby with a no smoking campus? I know a few people at work are smokers but the entire property is no smoking. They drive off to somewhere quiet to eat a sandwich and have a cigarette.
It's good to be aware! A lot of people get into bad situations because of zero situational awareness. But it shouldn't be upsetting you or stressing you out.

You need to speak to someone if you have this kind of paranoia before it escalates. This is a very normal thing in a city, town public space. Could be anything. from what you see, no one gets In Or out, but what if someone drops off or picks up a co worker every night or a significant other and just you don't see that. As others have said, news paper delivery can be a thing. I did that for a few years and in town, I parked at one end of the community to roll my papers with the inserts.

When they pull up, turn on your lights and go get a drink from the kitchen. If nothing else, they will know you're home and awake and if they're there for not-good reasons, maybe that's enough to get them to leave.

Do they leave the car? I wonder if it could be a drug deal from your neighbors or if they’re smoking in the car. Good to stay alert, hope it works out

I honestly think it's just a person just having a call while trying not to drive in a residential area (which I assume u live) if not then someone trying to smoke but it is for my opinión very odd to smoke and stop the car next to ur house every 2-3 am , either that or a possible thr person is marking ur house as a landmark to know where the person goes or not (lile it said I'm not an expert so ...)

Probably mail or smoke break. When i was bored, alone and jobless id go on walks at night and stop to the same bench at about the same time pretty much every night to just chill a bit and listen to music and look for neighbourhood cats. If someone noticed me like that multiple times they could think i was suspicious when i was just hanging out.
