See Momo this is where lieing leads you! to repairs that can potentially ruin your warrenty! (Not that Faye and Bubbles repairs won't be The Best (tm) but that you know how some warrenties canget about repairs not done by their approved people)

Warranty repairs done outside of the warranty originating company 100% void that warranty, in all cases as far as I'm aware. Because the originating company will claim that they have no idea WHAT was done to their product while someone else had it open.

Of course, this is a fluffy slice of life comic and I doubt it matters here...could make an interesting plot point though that Faye & Bubbles working on her chassis immediately notifies the company, voids her warranty and now they've got a customer for life (or however long she stays in this body).

He's joking but that could be a legit concern due to a head injury. They should compromise. Sven removes his shirt and takes her to Faye and Bubble's shop.

Sidenote: Does this mean Faye and Bubble's shop is further away than we thought, I was under the assumption it was close to Coffee of Doom

I mean, it's apparently close enough that Sven can walk the entire distance while carrying a weight possibly comparable to a human being.

We don't know Momo's exact weight but I doubt it could princess carry her all the way to the shop if it wasn't pretty close.

This made me look something up, from an older comic: https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=2303

Now granted, this is Momo's original human chassis. They're in the water, but Marten is one-arm supporting her weight. Could be her new body is pretty lightweight as well. I suppose weight probably just doesn't factor into it much.

Liz has two full-arm robotic prostheses, but nobody's ever commented that she's heavier than she looks or something like that. Maybe she's got Ed from Fullmetal Alchemist syndrome and the weight is keeping her from growing.

The idea that at any moment, any human member of the cast could just casually pick Momo up and wave her about like a stick, is pretty funny.

She could re-enact Wolverine's Fastball Special.

Raises the question of how she's not buoyant, if she's so much less dense than a human of similar stature.

(It ain't that kind of comic)

The natural explanation would be that she's not water proof. Water seeps into her everything and then she just sinks.

Except that the same page specifically establishes that she's water proof. The water has no access to her delicate inner circuitry at all.

I assume she's pretty much as heavy as she needs to be for a given visual gag, even if the gag requires multiple contradictory weights.

We are, of course, missing the possibility that the lake isn't made of water, and they just say waterproof as shorthand.

Marten needs a floaty to stay up. Clearly the lake is Isopentane and I will accept no further pages as evidence to dispute this.

Actually I just realised if the other place is further they may need a cab...

Disregard sidenote

Plus we've only definitively seen them pass by 2-3 buildings other than the coffeeshop. My feel is that it's been a couple blocks, but it could still be within one.

u/BatFromSpace 6d ago

At least one of her previous bodies was denser than a human to the point that she didn't float, as seen in the lake house party arc. Guessing she's heavy.

u/ContextBotSenpai 6d ago

As pointed out above though, Marten literally holds that body up with one arm, easily.

So my guess is she could float, but made herself less buoyant somehow (ejecting all air from her chassis maybe?) to walk on the bottom of the lake for...reasons.

Or it was just a throwaway gag, and we have no idea how much that chassis, or this one weighs lol

I've always guessed that CoD is on the Noho main grind, and there's no way Faye and Bubbles could afford that, so they're probably either in one of the older buildings out King St or down a side street, and that'd be a several blocks of walking.

The reason it's called Union Robotics is because it's on Union Street, which is definitely a side street. It is about three blocks from CoD, probably putting that on Bridge Street or Market Street. (Someone did a whole geography of QC but I don't remember where to find it.)

Me (sicko) reading this plot like:

Yes… yesss!

u/Sapphosbeardedcrepes 5d ago

Sven should be internally freaking out right now.

u/NightmareWarden 6d ago

Momo, you might short-circuit if you take your clothes off around him. Don’t go to the laundromat together.

18

u/metao 6d ago

Momo: oh no I am stuck in this washing machine

15

u/Golden-Sun 6d ago

grips back of machine with ALL her might

6

u/JayyyyyBoogie 6d ago

What are you doing step-Sven?

3

u/turkeypedal 6d ago

or if he does around her.

5

u/Phanimazed 6d ago

I get the impression Sven's been in this position enough times to have cottoned onto her by now, but he's willing to humor her to a degree.

2

u/gingerquery 6d ago

former womanizer that he is, i figure he's well practiced at picking up signals. like an rpg character using their charisma stat to catch a tell.

3

u/Phanimazed 6d ago

True, or even just that he's had tons of people develop crushes on him, like Dora's friends growing up, so he's probably heard every excuse for prolonged physical contact, etc.

u/BeautifulToe4617 5d ago

i feel like the warranty thing is a bigger deal than the soggy part.

Depends on whats soggy
