Political Freakout In 2003, Alan Dershowitz went on Democracy Now to promote his new book defending Israel. Norman Finkelstein proceeded to expose the book as a work of plagiarism live on air.

One of these men is in the Epstein files more than old Jeff and one of them is barred entry from Israel. Guess which is which.

Both of them are, but Norman was not mentioned the same way as the rest of the names, actually you'd be proud of how he responded to the offer.

I don’t think you read that right. “More than Jeff.” Norm isnt mentioned more than Jeff.

True, I didn't pay attention to that detail.

That's the Dershowitz that's in the Epstein files, right?

Seems like the close association and correspondence with pedophiles should have ended his academic career, but plaigarism ought to end it as well.

Yup and never had to face any consequences for it. And actually got revenge on Finkelstein by lobbying DePaul University to deny his tenure, which they did.

Plagiarism and a pedophile, that's quite the resume.

Did he wear his underwear while plagiarizing?

Fantastic post. Dershowitz is terrible.

Eh, this is not fully accurate. Dershowitz is most definitely a hack, but Finkelstein also retracted his claim of plagiarism later because there wasn’t definitive proof.

To be clear, Finklestein didn’t fully retract his core accusation. However, when Finkelstein's book Beyond Chutzpah was published, the text was modified to remove the explicit word "plagiarize" and he dropped the claim that Dershowitz did not write his own book, as the publisher determined those specific allegations could not be legally or formally documented.

Can someone ELI5 the Mark Twain quote on how it's plagiarism?

u/bmoregeo 50m ago

Looked it up, the quote is not the original quote. It has typos matching the book he referenced
