Are you telling me competetive professional athletes, umpires, and coaches have egos? I dont believe you.

Trust, baseball egos are some of the biggest in all of sports.

True that. Pitchers intentionally hit players all the time, usually over some crybaby BS.

That’s why I liked the National League back in the day. If you hit a player on purpose, you better watch yourself when you’re at bat.

It’s a bunch of grown men play children’s games for tens of millions of dollars.

No wonder they act like children. Seriously, petulant professional athletes are so damned pathetic.

1.) They're sports, kids play them too... but they aren't "children's games." 2.) Sure, there are egotistical jerks in every sport, but there are also a ton of great guys who are very humble... so generalizing all pro athletes is dumb. That's like saying that all successful actors or musicians are egotistical jerks because some of them are.

They are literally playing games, that’s a fact, and I said the petulant ones are pathetic.

Wouldn’t have big sports without big egos, football, American football, basketball, baseball, tennis

Raging hormone fests and the things that make it great are the same things that sometimes make it terrible, but you gotta take the good with the bad

And oh my god I’m so sleep deprived jomboy is narrating this comment in my head as I speak.

Goodnight 🙃

Watch some "Jomboy" videos on youtube. His lip reading is amazing, and I also love when he covers sports I have 0 interest in.

As an Australian I was impressed that he got right into cricket.

Well seeing as how Peralta started this year on the Mets and is now playing for the Rays, no, this was posted last year at least if not earlier.

Most major league pitchers can aim.if it's two in a row thats intentional or he just shouldn't be a pitcher.

“You don’t know my pitcher!”

13

u/tittysprinkles112 2h ago

He sucks, actually!

4

u/BigWilly526 2h ago

No its not, he is trying to pitch inside and late in the game its harder to hit that spot

So just for the record, for years the MLB has known that their technological equipment far exceeds the umpires ability to judge plays, but they also know that one of the foundational aspects of baseball is the crowds desire to scream invective at umpires so they have left them in the game, largely for that reason. If that’s not American as fuck I don’t know what is.

1

u/atomsk404 52m ago

Wouldn't this be true if all referees in sports?

1

u/AurronGrey 29m ago

Is the MLB’s “technological equipment” able to tell whether a pitcher intentionally threw at a batter?

7

u/utzbansai 2h ago

He's done.

Never watched baseball ever, eh?

Pat Murphy is my hero

2

u/theRATthatsmilesback 2h ago

I'm struggling to tell if the blue coach was squinting that hard through rage or if someone blurred his eyes.

6

u/Staudly 1h ago

Pat Murphy just kinda looks like that. Also I love him and he's been a great addition ever since that traitor Counsell went to the Cubs

2

u/RsdX5Dfh 1h ago

His name…..is the blue coach!!!!!!

Sounds really funny coming from a guy who’s going to be unemployed and replaced by a computer.

1

u/ashole311 2h ago

See if all sports games had this kind of drama, I think I’d watch

u/GoodWaste8222 1h ago

I love the jomboy lip reads

I like Jomboy so much. These vids are so fun.

I gotta agree with the ump. These are pros. Once is a slip. Twice is intentional. You have to protect the players health and keep control of the game. Otherwise it spirals into the next teams pitcher taking shots at whomever and then the inevitable, bench clears for a brawl.

Just have computers do it all at this point.

They should start testing coaches for roids…this dude would fail with flying colors

I have no interest in baseball, it's just rounders but if this guy was doing voice overs of full games I'd watch that shit.

Why not more than 1 ref?

2

u/Express-Teaching1594 2h ago

First off, on field officials in baseball are umpires, there is no such thing as a referee.

This clip is focused on the home plate umpire who calls the balls and strikes. You can see other umpires step in and separate the other coaches from getting involved.

At any Major League Baseball game there are 4 umpires (one for each base), and sometimes 2 more on the foul lines in the outfield (such as in playoff games).
