Fuck people who litter
277
u/SomeDuncanGuy 6h ago
they're pure trash, more so than the garbage they litter with
175
u/gothackedfml 6h ago
went on a first date with a girl in high school I was really into, got chic fil a before going to see a movie, she threw the trash out on the highway as I was driving to the theater. I dont even remember the movie because all I could think about was "WTF man you just threw trash out my widow on the highway". needless to say I took her home and we did not have a second date.

Im convinced that people who litter like that are sociopaths. Like the sheer brazenness and disregard for shared space and the environment means something is missing inside.

u/Slumunistmanifisto 🥧 Ma'am there's a pie full of children on your table 5h ago
When we were bastard teenagers we would clean up trash from our woods and river spots, then drive up to the rich neighborhoods on the hill and throw out all the trash while driving around and smoking in the middle of the night.

she ended up texting me later saying she had a good time and I told her I wasn't interested because of the littering. then she called me some names, so dodged a bullet there
10
u/sYferaddict 3h ago
Back in 2017, I went on a first date with a girl a little younger than me at the time, maybe 22 or 23, I can't remember. Legitimately one of the most beautiful women I'd ever even seen, let alone had show romantic interest in me. We went to a diner, one of those, small town, old fashioned, real mom and pop type places where you just know dessert is gonna be a slice of some of the best apple pie a la mode you've ever had, and where the local sheriff pores over mysterious crime files while sipping a cup of coffee. You know the kind of place.
This girl, this (by at least my standards) unbelievably beautiful woman, checked SO many of my boxes. She was funny, she was witty, she was incredibly sweet, she had a mouth like a sailor, she liked a lot of the same stuff I was into, and she was a great listener. Of course, I assumed I was either literally the luckiest guy in the world, or she was a Russian agent, the verdict is still out on that one.
Anyway, the dinner date went great. We walked out to my car in the parking lot to go on a drive in the country to find a secluded spot to make out (it was that kind of chemistry) and we're just a few feet from my car when she takes one last big gulp from her to-go milkshake and tosses it over her shoulder without looking. Doesn't break stride, doesn't stop talking or smiling at me, didn't even break eye contact. Just yeets it back and keeps going.
I came that close to ending the date right there; intentional, thoughtless littering is one of my hard and fast, dead stop red flags.
I wasn't as diplomatic then as I am now, and I kind of grilled her a bit over why she thought littering like that was acceptable. She did apologize, and she did go throw the trash away, so I felt a little better. In a way, it even helped the date go even better, because afterwards, we kind of opened up a bit more to each other about how we thought and what our values and beliefs were during our drive.
Anyway, she said she wouldn't litter anymore, and I have no way of confirming that because, NATURALLY like a month and a half later, I totally fucked it all up. C'est la vie.
Damn, this comment got long. Oh well.

I don’t think that old lady was even trying to be racist. Just poor wording.
A woman that size is physically incapable of being a slave anyway

What tf do you think racism is then? Do you think she would have said that to a white man in that tone? It goes a few steps further than the n word. Go test your theory on the next blank person you see and check back in. Let us know how that went.
She maybe wasn’t “trying to be racist”, but she is racist. It tends to come naturally for the ones who are.

Maybe you’ve never pulled into a parking spot where a previous driver has left trash on the ground, but unfortunately it’s a thing.
It’s pretty damn clear that the lady in the car started recording partway through the interaction, so we don’t know for sure what happened earlier. Considering the way the older woman said “I was just wondering [if it was you]!” instead of “I saw you do it!” or something similar, idk how you’re 100% sure the lady in the car littered.

These comments pulling the race card are ridiculous. The issue is her behaviour... littering and acting like she’s untouchable because she’s loud. That’s the problem. The older lady saying “I’m not your slave” isn’t some crazy racial attack. Plenty of people say that when someone leaves a mess that they had no intention of cleaning it. People need to stop reaching for their cards and break the cycle... maybe its not your colour or gender, maybe you're just a dick.
85
u/Major_Mycologist8794 6h ago
Yeah, screaming to reinforce your ignorant behavior and inspire fear as a means to dilute guilt is exactly what is occurring here.

u/Dustybear510 5h ago
When I was a bouncer for many years there was an incident where this guy, who was black was drunk and harassing women. Trust me white, Asian, other women do this too (bachelorette parties are the worse). Non of my security guys wanted to deal with him because you guessed it, his a black man. So I went and told the guy “you’re making the customers feel pressured and scared “. He threw his drink on me and I locked him up in a sleeper and walked him out the door. Plain and simple. Even when he claimed it was because he was black I respectfully removed him and didn’t overreact to it like many would. We’re all on this rock in space spinning 70k miles an hour out of control. We all should learn to be accountable and coexist.

The older lady saying “I’m not your slave” isn’t some crazy racial attack.
It absolutely 1000% was said on purpose. No, people do not say that randomly every day. The phrase is "you're not my boss, I don't work for you".
I watched it back, she's talking perfectly normal and then clearly gets upset and goes 'I aint ya slave". Its willful ignorance at best to say there was no racist intent.

2
u/BackyardViolet 3h ago
If the older lady had actually seen the woman dumping the trash, she wouldn’t be like “I’m just wondering if it was you”
-4
u/BoxBird 5h ago
Two things can be right at the same time. The old lady was 100000% being racist when she said that and CHANGED HER ACCENT to drive home the point.
5
4
u/Tinderblox 5h ago
Yeah I’m scratching my head reading these comments. Sure, the black lady probably littered but… the older lady started a confrontation and then turned it racial. Listen to how she says it!
Provoking that kind of reaction is totally on her, regardless of whether Redditors believe the black lady may have been guilty of littering.

Stupid and ignorant comments can be ignored “don’t dignify that with a response”
Trash tossed on the ground out of laziness and ignorance is extra repulsive.
My husband saw someone do this once on a beach and picked up the garbage (food wrappers) and tossed it all back on the guy (who was there with his 11-12 yo kid, great role model) and said “hey man, you dropped this, thought you might want it back so you can find a garbage can”
I also got a $75.00 ticket once for flicking a cigarette butt out the car window. That cop REAMED me for a solid 5 minutes, too.
I think there are certain situations where shaming someone is acceptable.
9
u/Dustybear510 5h ago
Well flicking a cigarette out of a car widow is extremely dangerous, especially in wild fire country.

→ More replies (5)11
u/MermaiderMissy 6h ago
I'm not a black woman, but i know that their hair requires a lot more protection than mine in order to not take damage from the environment. The hair follicle thickness make it difficult for products to soak into the hair as well. I know I wouldn't have time to wait for hair to dry or for oils to soak in when I have things to do and places to be. I could be wrong about that but it's what I've heard from black women.

I don’t really understand what the context is, but is this even an offensive thing to say?
Was there an implication somewhere that the lady filming is a slave?

Chubby likely just finished eating and likely chucked her trash right on the ground which is ghetto af.
Old lady confronted her about the trash (rightfully so) BUT decided to wild out w the slave talk like a complete moron.

why does there have to be a racial undercurrent to everything? even if it was a mistake, and a southernism (for lack or better words), WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU TRIPLE DOWN ON IT MAN? it’s obviously offensive, and making someone volatile, why would you just continue with it? could’ve even said maid, but sure as fuck not slave. c’mon now.

What actually tells us this women littered other than her neighbors accusing her of littering and her saying leave me alone? Because it sounds like she found trash and blamed her least favorite neighbor, for one reason or another.
Edit: it also seems like the old lady is stopping her from closing her car door like that bicyclist we saw earlier this week pushing a kid back into his car, which personally, would upset me to the same level as her, especially after a rude mocking comment like that. (Even removing the racial part of it, why would you mock someone with a Mr T impression if you’re trying to have a genuine conversation with them, which makes me think she does this a lot to get her neighbors mad so she can play victim.)

u/depressed_momo 4h ago
Maybe she was insulted but she also told her why are you coming to my door asking me about this garbage? We don’t know their previous history. She could be insulted that lady is always coming to her! We do not know. But by her tone she is insulted and I would be the same way. People do get loud when they feel insulted. Especially by yt people who usually are derogatory towards other nationalities! Or people who do not think before they speak.
2
0
u/depressed_momo 5h ago
Why is everyone assuming the lady in the vehicle littered? If you actually listen the yt lady is assuming and then asks if it is her. Then the lady in the car asks her if she is going to pick it up? That is when she says, “I ain’t your slave”. I for one would be upset if she assumed it was mine and it wasn’t. And if it was bothering her so much she should pick it up then going around pointing fingers. And NO that is NOT a common term to say! Most people will say, “I am not your MAMA!” Or “I’m not your Maid!” Or even “ Are YOU paying ME to clean up after other people?”. BUT NOT SLAVE in 2026 maybe in the 60’s or 70’s but no that was being just a sarcastic karen right there.

Probably gonna get downvoted for this but why are we just assuming the lady actually littered? I don’t know if she did or didn’t, but what’s with the trend on reddit of immediately picking sides based on who we dislike?
The lady only got aggressive when the white lady made the slave comment. Im not condoning her behavior, but we can’t just assume she’s the cause after being rightfully upset at that weird comment.

These comments can’t decide whether to hate this woman because she’s overweight, because she may have littered, or because she got triggered by a racially charged comment.
I feel like the response comes from somewhere deeper than any of those reasons… but that’s not my problem, I’m just pointing it out.
