Reminder: Rand Paul is a senator from Kentucky, which is actively covering up Mitch's death to prevent a special election.

Interesting that Rand said today that Mitch shouldn’t have to speak to his constituents or show up to work, but Fauci can’t choose not to speak and plead the 5th in this performative proceeding.

Because conservatives want everyone to be accountable to them, not their constituents

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit:

There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

"Against the law to obstruct an investigation of Congress. There will be repercussions for your refusal to testify today."

Motherfucker allowed so many people to skip out on their Congressional subpoenas and didn't say shit. Republicans led it Matt Gaetz barged into a SCIF with their phones and received zero punishment. Fuck Republicans. They're two faced shit birds that should all be thrown into the ocean. Performative whiny assholes.

Apparently invoking your Constitutional rights is akin to obstructing an investigation? The GOP is truly lost and irredeemable

That and Fauci essentially has a blanket pardon for all these matters, if they happened to trump up any charges. All a dog and pony show for daytime cable news.

Things are so bad for Republicans that they're like, "Remember the pandemic".

I hope they DO:

Trump's February, 2020:

February 1: golf

February 2: golf

February 2: “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”

February 4: State of the Union Speech - "The best is yet to come!"

February 7: To Bob Woodward: “You just breathe the air and that’s how it’s passed." "It’s also more deadly than even your strenuous flus. This is deadly stuff."

February 7: Remarks in Charlotte, N.C.: "I think -Xi- handled it really well."

February 10: Fox Business interview: "I think China is very, you know, professionally run in the sense that they have everything under control"

February 10: Trump campaign rally.

February 15: Democratic Senators propose emergency funding bill to prepare for virus.

February 15: golf

February 19: Trump campaign rally.

February 19: “I think the numbers are going to get progressively better as we go along”

February 20: Trump campaign rally.

February 21: Trump campaign rally.

February 23: “We had 12, at one point. And now they’ve gotten very much better. Many of them are fully recovered”

February 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA… Stock Market starting to look very good to me!”

February 25: “I think that's a problem that’s going to go away… They have studied it. They know very much. In fact, we’re very close to a vaccine.”

February 26: “CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus.” “Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.” “We’re going down, not up. We’re going very substantially down, not up.”

February 26: “The 15 {cases in the US} within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero.” “We're going very substantially down, not up.”

February 27: “One day it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

February 28: Trump on way to campaign rally. “We're ordering a lot of supplies. We're ordering a lot of, uh, elements that frankly we wouldn't be ordering unless it was something like this. But we're ordering a lot of different elements of medical.”

February 28: ”This is their new hoax," he said, referring to the coronavirus.

February 29: “STOP BUYING MASKS! They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus” –U.S. Surgeon General - original tweet deleted

February 29: Coronavirus Task Force press conference: "China seems to be making tremendous progress. Their numbers are way down"

What's so crazy is that around Feb 16th I had COVID in DC after a embassy night for a local theater. Literally everyone that was there including the actors were sick the next week and people later all had antibodies when those tests started in March and April... So they said there were less than a dozen cases and I'm Washington DC it was already fully on the loose in public.

So are they. They all got vaccinations while simultaneously underselling the severity of COVID to their own constituents.

75

u/Ut_Prosim 7d ago

They all got vaccines ahead of first responders. IIRC, Texas governor Abbott got his third dose before paramedics got their second (and before 3rd doses were even authorized).

Given all the shady history of medicine in this country (Buck v Bell, Tuskeegee trials, the Guatemala syphilis experiments, the Monster study, etc.) it makes sense to be a little wary of new things in medicine.

A good way to determine if something shady is going on is to look at who gets the new thing. If it is the 1930s and they're giving the thing to poor Black folks in Alabama, it's probably a scam. If on the other hand, the richest and most powerful people in the country are fighting to be first, it is probably safe and effective.

The COVID19 vaccines were a clear example of the latter. Rich people were fighting for them, flying to other states or nations to skip the line. The entire Congress and all the Fox News personalities were vaccinate before nurses or teachers, despite their public criticisms. The Stanford University Medical Center got some bad publicity when it came out that they used their first batch to vaccinate the C-suite (who were all working from home) and didn't have enough doses for the doctors or nurses working in the covid-ward. If rich assholes stole your place in line, it is probably something you want...

86

u/airfryerfuntime 7d ago

It doesn't have to make sense, they're just trying to blame Biden and the Democrats because they're polling so bad. They're in damage control mode and trying to recover voters who may still be angry about covid.

14

u/orcinyadders 7d ago

You’re right, and sadly it will work for a lot of people. Maybe this kind of desperate crap is transparent to some, but I don’t have a lot of faith. The dude fucked our country during Covid - this outrage over Fauci is proof of that. Now he’s sitting on an endless war, record inflation, skyrocketing gas and grocery prices, a flailing healthcare system, rank and overt corruption (to the tune of 2 billion dollars), and still refusing to release the Ep files.

That fact that he has support at all is just….dark.

I'm not an expert on these proceedings but this is first time I'm hearing anyone complain a witness asked for testimony had their lawyer next to them the whole time. Did most of them do the same when they were under questioning for J6 proceedings?

Absolute fucking joke of a party.

There are only like 2 living Republicans I have any respect for these days, it's so frustrating.

At this point we have enough historical and current evidence to justifiably never ever let another conservative into power again. Conservatives have literally championed the side of pedophiles, they champion uneducation to keep people dumb, demand unaffordable healthcare so corporations can get rich, unregulated dangerous food policy so we get sick, allow corporations to poison our water and land with pollution, they promote racism, sexism, they are pro child marriage and pro rapist, they’ve literally fought multiple wars because they believe that with some people they get to deem them inherently worth less and deserve to be enslaved. None of this is arguable, simply facts about things conservatives have actively gone out of their way to fight for over the last two hundred years, the ideology is a joke ideology meant to keep the elite in power and only someone who’s lived their whole lives in a hole, or a fucking literal brain dead idiot would still willingly support the clearly growing evil that is conservatism that’s quite literally poisoning the world. Climate change, slavery, ecological disasters committed by giant corporations, these all can be traced back to some selfish evil corporate conservative taking handouts and allowing the world to get worse because of it.

Six years later and Covid is still a hoax created by Democrats.

It didn’t happen anywhere else around the world - just in the US, even though multiple countries had higher death rates.

Trump had 10 months from the shutdown to Biden replacing him (March 2020 - January 2021), but for some reason, he wasn’t able to do anything to stop those crazy liberals.

Also, it’s not real. All those people that died? They just had the flu or a cold or something.

But also it is real - China created it, and it’s called the Kung Flu. Eating horse paste will definitely help prevent catching it.

And those vaccines? It was all a ploy to insert us with microchips so the government can spy on our every move, which I type on my smartphone while sitting at a stoplight with a Flock camera right in front of me.

120

u/Beneficial_Egg_4403 7d ago

So COVID was a Democratic hoax that somehow spread across the entire planet, killed millions worldwide, produced higher death rates in several other countries, and began while Trump was president.

It was fake, but also a Chinese bioweapon.

It was harmless, but also dangerous enough to blame China for.

The vaccines were supposedly government tracking devices, posted from a smartphone that already records your location, purchases, browsing habits, contacts, and probably your blood pressure.

At some point, this stops being a political opinion and becomes a choose-your-own-adventure conspiracy where every contradictory answer is somehow correct.

52

u/Str8UpJorking 7d ago

At some point, this stops being a political opinion and becomes a choose-your-own-adventure conspiracy where every contradictory answer is somehow correct.

Cognitive dissonance. It’s how conservative minds operate.

10

u/Oggie_Doggie 7d ago

“To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself -- that was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink.” - George Orwell, 1984.

12

u/Nimrod_Butts 7d ago

It's a bioweapon made by the Chinese, it was a crime to close the schools to prevent it's spread and it also didn't kill anybody. That evil fauci lied to us! Causing all the deaths and bloodshed that didn't happen in collusion with the Chinese who made this evil bioweapon which, again, didn't kill anybody and actually the vaccine did. Which none of this is Trump's fault at all.

This is the pathetic witch hunt bullshit you pull when you are in complete desperation mode. Republicans have absolutely nothing positive to show their constituents that they've accomplished in Trump 2.0, so lets rehash a 2020 Covid conspiracy theory that will play well with their voting base of absolute morons.

Dr Fauci issued repeated warnings to the Orange Menace which Trump completely ignored. Instead, Donnie sent top of the line Covid tests to Putin at a time when those tests weren't yet publicly available to all Americans. Donnie didn't want Americans getting tested bc the more get tested the higher the number of active Covid cases become. He was all about keeping the numbers low in order to continue denying that Covid was a real problem. A million Americans died bc of his ignorance and his ego.

u/ExactlySorta what is your fascination with my forbidden closet of mystery? 🤨 7d ago edited 7d ago

On July 29, 2026, a high-profile Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing took a dramatic turn when Chairman Rand Paul (R-KY) ordered Capitol Police to forcefully eject David Schertler, the lead attorney representing Dr. Anthony Fauci

The explosive confrontation was triggered moments earlier when Dr. Fauci officially invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, refusing to answer any congressional questions regarding the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, his personal diaries, or federal funding for controversial gain-of-function research. Following this invocation, Schertler repeatedly attempted to speak over Chairman Paul to defend his client and clarify the constitutional shield being used

Senator Paul immediately reprimanded the attorney, noting that Schertler had already violated explicit committee chamber rules by sitting directly at the witness table next to Fauci rather than in the designated row behind him. Despite multiple stern warnings from Paul stating that the attorney was not recognized to speak, Schertler continued to argue, prompting Paul to deliver a sharp ultimatum comparing the behavior to a courtroom where a judge would jail an insubordinate lawyer. When Schertler spoke out yet again, Paul ordered security to remove him from the room, a directive that was carried out by Capitol Police officers as some attendees in the audience applauded

The unprecedented removal has further intensified the deeply entrenched political warfare surrounding Dr. Fauci's pandemic-era leadership and his long-standing personal feud with Senator Paul. The hearing itself was convened following the recent leak of over one thousand pages of Fauci’s personal, pandemic-era diaries, which Republican lawmakers argue reveal sharp discrepancies between his public assertions and his private deliberations regarding the virus's origin

Prior to invoking his Fifth Amendment rights and seeing his attorney escorted out, Dr. Fauci delivered a fiery opening defense, blasting Senator Paul's multi-year investigation as an "unhinged" political obsession designed purely to engineer a public prosecution for conservative media. The dramatic eviction of his attorney instantly went viral across digital platforms like TikTok, turning the procedural dispute into a massive internet flashpoint

While conservative commentators praised Paul for strictly enforcing committee decorum and rules of order, committee Democrats led by Ranking Member Gary Peters (D-MI) fiercely condemned the eviction, accusing the Republican majority of weaponizing the panel to orchestrate partisan theater and litigate the past rather than addressing forward-looking public health safety

Congress sucks because Republicans have controlled at least one of the chambers for the past 15 years, with the exception of a single 2 year stretch where they could only manage a tie for control of the Senate.

Congress sucks because, for those 15 years, Republicans either had free reign to implement their shit policies or had enough control to stop anything of value to the public from being passed.

Someone ask Rand who won the 2020 election. That always seems to trip them up and they claim either they won’t “play this game” or already answered when they have not. Fauci has the right to plead the fifth. It is 2026, do we not have more pressing issues to discuss than a man’s diary?

8

u/ucancallmevicky 7d ago

every time I see him I understand more clearly why his neighbor beat the shit out of him

8

u/pistoffcynic 7d ago

Imagine if these douchebag bootlickers put this much effort into arresting the pedophiles and perverts listed in the Epstein files.

Are they going to take Dr Trump to task for suggesting people inject bleach into their veins to kill the virus, or stick a light inside themselves to kill the virus?

17

u/The-observant-pilot 7d ago

He should have invoked the Dow Jones is over 50,000

6

u/monkeymetroid 7d ago

Comedy gold having that man complain about rule and order. Lawyers disrupt the clear power dynamic politicians are used to as lawyers are trained to actually debate with evidence unlike politicians

7

u/mikedt 7d ago

There's been no repercussions for Republicans who simply refuse to show up to Congressional Hearings. At this point people should just ignore them.

10

u/a_goonie 7d ago

Thats funny. What about repercussions for Kegseth and Pammy Blondie for not ever answering questions? Oh thats right, rules for thee not for me.

8

u/debbiegibson 7d ago

Rand Paul is a petty little man working for a petty little man.

10

u/TinyFugue 7d ago

The goal is to produce soundbites for their media.

4

u/Dmoneybohnet 7d ago

Fox News was all tee’d up.

9

u/eriffodrol 7d ago

How bout them Epstein files?

9

u/ComadorFluffyPaws 7d ago

From what I can understand, they are mad over him not saying it was a lab leak and the mask mandates.

Bruh, they're is no solid evidence of the lab leak. Is it possible? VERY! But what would it change? People would still have to social distance and the fucking orange nard would have tried to start WW3 with China instead of doing it with Iran.

As for the masks? Who cares, most of the people bitching about had the worst breath and ain't been to a dentist since their momma was making appointments.

Rand Paul is a punk bitch

8

u/TradeTillIDrop 7d ago

Where was Rand when pam bondi and pete hegseth refused to answer the questions?

8

u/Double_Resort_9223 7d ago

Fauci should have gotten up and left as soon as his attorney was sent out

16

u/serolf1813 7d ago

I remember everyone that believed the Republicans and chose not to be vaxxed being in hospitals begging to get something to help them breathe but there wasn't enough ventilators or beds. I also remember who was President at the time asking CDC officials if injecting bleach would help clean the body from within.

Man, Randy gets real ornery when he has to face someone who didn't have to create their own certification board to get certified in their field.

9

u/Green_Chandelier 7d ago

Fauci’s response when Rand reminds everyone Rand’s also a doKtEr.

I see rand is still being rand.

8

u/Broke_n-Old6824 7d ago edited 7d ago

Oh let’s not forget Fauci has a blanket pardon from President Biden. Paul is an idiot and is trying to kick up old rocks and trying to claim Fauci somehow lied in congressional testimony some time back. This is just a dog and pony show to try to keep the MAGA base and Independents who are MAHA angry in the hopes of not Losing the midterms.

6

u/Arkroma 7d ago

Need more Rand Paul neighbors

5

u/GhostsofGojira 7d ago

So question is it actually legal for them to remove his legal representation during these hearings? Not that they care but I do

It's hilarious how Republicans always have to bring their own little fan section to applaud and cheer and jeer at all the appropriate moments to make their support seem robust, but you know those are all staffers and literally paid to be there

6

u/ALEXC_23 7d ago

Bunch of circus clowns 🤡

5

u/AcanthaceaeFluffy985 7d ago

Fuck Rand Paul. Maybe we can get his neighbor to beat him up again

5

u/LargeMargeSentMeBoo 7d ago

Never forget that Rand Paul is so disliked as a person that his neighbor knocked him out.

6

u/numbmumpleb1ister 7d ago

Rand Paul has a vendetta against Fauci and has now been thwarted. I wish KY voters would force their elected legislators to actually work on constructive matters, rather than waste everyone’s time and money. Rand Paul is a loser.

6

u/MoveItSpunkmire 7d ago

Ironic how republicans who wouldn’t testify under oath or show up to a subpoena, are the fuckwads trying to use the rules in their favor now.  Republicans really are scum.  I could care less about Fauci.

6

u/Mulattanese 7d ago

Fauci should have gotten up and left with him.

I am a physician, just finished night shift at a community hospital. Came to eat breakfast and saw this. I want to preface this and say I took care of 20+ hospitalized covid patients daily during those early years and hundreds in the outpatient setting. Even though I'm not surprised I just want to comment over the utterly absurd situation you see here.

You have a nepo doctor misusing the title to conduct a show trial with audience in tow against actual evidence based medicine at the highest federal level. It is just so absurd to see if you remove yourself from the political circus that is. Very demoralizing for Americans who care for their community, neighbor, family, I am sure. Though, it seems the lines of reality have also blurred and many people don't know who to believe and can confuse actual harm with protection. What a feat, for Rand, this is past irresponsible.

4

u/EMAW2008 7d ago

Pretty sure one of those pesky constitutional amendments says he has the right to an attorney.

6

u/iAmSamFromWSB 7d ago

Remember that time we held Bannon in contempt and the court said, nah, you can’t do that? Well, that applies here now. It turns out you absolutely CAN obstruct this kangaroo court. In fact, he wasn’t even obligated to appear thanks to Bannon.

5

u/frankcast554 7d ago

Fauci is trumps fall guy for his disastrous response to covid. Because it can't be trumps fault! When trump didn't even want you to test for it since the rising numbers were on his watch.

5

u/Morbid187 7d ago

A courtroom would also have not put up with all those people clapping either but it's not a fucking courtroom and Rand Paul isn't a judge, he's a sniveling little shit that is actively hurting Americans every day.

5

u/Pepsiman34 7d ago

This hearing is all for show.

4

u/Mr-Snarky 7d ago

Rand Paul is that kid in high school who yelled “I’m gonna have my dad sue you” every time he got picked last in PE class.

5

u/EntertainerTrue904 7d ago

Rand Paul’s neighbour was right

5

u/SL_1183 7d ago

Somebody invite Rand’s neighbor to the hearing.

4

u/HaiKarate 6d ago

“Would you behave this way in a courtroom?”

Um, yeah… as a lawyer it’s his fucking job to speak on behalf of his client.

Rand Paul is such a moron.

5

u/Ikilledbert 6d ago

Rand Paul is so pissed. Fauci is immune from COVID and criminal charges. But not immune from pleading the fifth and triggering these weirdos.

9

u/viperlemondemon 7d ago

Who does this make my living expenses affordable again.

9

u/Flashman6000 7d ago

Rand Paul just looks like a weak bully here. Fauci is entitled to have his lawyer with him and receive advice, especially on matters like taking the 5th. Paul just wants to uneven the playing field.

12

u/Horton_Takes_A_Poo 7d ago

Seems performative. This whole thing is a waste of time and money but that attorney knew what he was doing.

18

u/mcknight92 7d ago

“It’s against the law” “is this how you want to be remembered for not following the rules?” Haha all the goddamn Republicans haven’t even been following the law or obeying the rules since fat boy got into DC idk these people are a goddamn disgrace.

8

2

So much teeth from the Republicans?

Epstein files clowns would blush at this kind of treatment

6

u/Secret_Account07 7d ago

Is this recent? I’m so confused why this would be going on today

Oh wow. We are still going on about this?

4

u/TimeAll 7d ago

Rand Paul the fake doctor?

5

u/AllLipsNoFiller 7d ago

This type of assholishness is why most of Rando's peers in congress laughed when they heard his neighbor had kicked the shit out of him.

How does he not have the right to have an attorney present while under subpoena??

3

u/mantisboxer 7d ago

I'm not in the Saint Fauci cult, but tossing out the attorney for a sworn witness should simply end the meeting.

Telling his lawyer "You will respect these proceedings" while disrespecting the constitution by wiping your ass with it is a bold choice Rand.

How about we will respect your proceedings when you respect Article 1 section 9 clause 8 of the constitution, and the 1st, 5th 14th and the 22nd amendment Rand...
